Accor takeover of Mantra group

Would this make Le Club Accor then the most accessible hotel loyalty program in Aus then?

Isn't it already the most accessible program, with around 200 properties? Certainly leaves the big US based chains for dead by a long shot. Accor probably has more properties in the South Australia alone, than most of the big US based chains have in all of Australia.

OK we are being bought out at a pretty full price.
The IBIS which is near the International Airport in Sydney is going into a Folkestone syndicate.
It sure needs a refurb and that will occur in 2018

This is a good thing - Mantra have good coastal properties (e.g. gold coast) that will be welcome to me as a accor member

The Hotel I mentioned is actually the Mercure Sydney International Airport that is going to be put into a syndicate for sophisticated investors.

This would make Accor my hotel chain of choice due to sheer number of properties.

Got this email today. Not sure when things will be fully integrated.

Dear defurax,

From our first hotel in Darling Harbour Sydney in 1991, AccorHotels has grown to be the leading hotel group in the Pacific. Today marks the latest chapter in this extraordinary growth story as we welcome Mantra, Peppers, BreakFree and Art Series brands. With the addition of these 138 hotels in Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and Bali, we can now offer a choice of 385 hotels for our guests, delivering even more memorable experiences through the art of human connection.

We will be working to bring these new brands into the award-winning AccorHotels loyalty program, Le Club AccorHotels, with a host of new member-only experiences.

For now, your membership in Le Club AccorHotels remains unchanged and we promise to let you know as soon as any changes to the program become available.

As always, we are at your service whenever and wherever you need us – in our hotels, at AccorHotels.com, our brand websites, on the AccorHotels App and through our Customer Contact Centres.

Thank you for your continued loyalty - we look forward to welcoming you on your next visit to our hotels.

Kind regards

Simon McGrath
Chief Operating Officer
AccorHotels Pacific

This gives some good options on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast of Queensland. A very positive move.

I don’t use hotels much but Accor messed me around with loyalty points. I do hope they have improved.
Getting bought out of Mantra was ok and I have re-invested into a hotel being built at Green Square and the Sydney Airport Mercure.

It's rapidly becoming my loyalty group of choice and this is further good news.

It is the loyalty group though that does need the most vigilance in terms of making sure points post correctly - in my experience.

I believe read in an article, that I can't quite track down at the second, that they are expecting this to take at least a year. :(

I've found all my recent stays, of which there have been several, have been posting within 24 hours of check-out along with the relevant promotional bonuses. This is a fairly substantial improvement over last year where they seemed to have dropped the ball and were having all sorts of issues. I'm wonder if they have had some tech improvements for things to be working so consistently at the moment.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It is better. But have still had problems this year - possibly only though at new hotels or where charges have been amended at check-out.

Just went back to look over my points and the two I had problems with were indeed hotels that were new and I had a revised bill at checkout. Lodged a 'missing points' request on the system with copies of bills attached. Stunned to get a positive response and crediting of points within 36 hours. Very pleased.

I understand that there has been more automation in the processes that need to happen for the points to post.

Spoke to some Mantra staff at two different locations this week and they don’t expect any changes in the short term - maybe wishful thinking.

Has anyone got a read on when the programs will be rolled into accor's.

Adding the Peppers/Mantra/others into the program will be a great way to burn some points come school holidays!

Spoke to folks at Accor HQ it will be well in to 2019 before you see the properties appearing on the Accor booking engine. They may do an interim status lift for Accor folks to get some extra goodies at Mantra properties in the interim.

Got a 10% discount on lunch last Friday. Had asked but not available a month ago so that's an improvement. The food at our local Mantra is pretty good & very well priced (quality & price is better than pub grub) so discount is a bonus.

Interesting ...has anyone else seen this as a published benefit?

I am a Mantra Unit owner. The AGM was a week ago so I quizzed the manager on what effect the Accor takeover was having and what benefits Accor elites got.
So there is no official policy as yet and possibly wont be until mid next year. The managers though can take the initiative and at our property top Accor elites will get fruit or choccies and a bottle of wine.No restaurant at this property though. However if they book direct by phone with the property will get a discount on stay-basically because they are not paying a third party commission.
