To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of ibis hotels, Accor is running a promotion whereby you'll earn 500 bonus Accor points each time you stay at an ibis, ibis styles or ibis budget hotel in a number of countries including Australia and New Zealand.You can earn a maximum of 2500 bonus points through this promotion meaning you would have to have had 5 bookings at an ibis property during this time. 500 Accor points works out to 10 Euros in value or approximately $16 AUD in value. Where this could be interesting are for folks who are short a couple of nights towards earning/retaining a desired level of status (i.e. Platinum) but there are some cheap ibis properties nearby to mattress run the status as this would effectively reduce the cost of the run (I believe some ibis properties in Australia can be had for well under $100/night, particularly if you have Accor+)

I looked at cancelling a flexible booking and rebooking to use this promo. Mercure Sydney was 13% more for same room, same rates. probably an incident of their dynamic pricing. Was able to cancel and rebook at the same price at Mercure Kawana.

Your post prompted me to look at forward bookings. I'm seeing lots of 30% promo today (the promo is called Guest Star Offer 20% off (I guess the remaining 10% is the normal Accor Plus discount) - all seemingly flexible bookings, which is where lots of my forward bookings are at.

I did a google "Guest Star Accor" and found this page and apparently the offer starts 28/5, but I'm seeing it now for some reason.
