I just got a survey asking for my experiences with Accor + Explorer, Accor Signature some of the other paid subscriptions as well as my general experiences of loyalty recognition for my status - currently platinum.

They were also asking a lot of questions about new “paid enhancements” to the schemes like:
  • Ability to pay (unclear if $ or points) for higher level of status
  • Ability to retain status if you miss target
  • ability to roll over excess status points not needed to retain your leveL
  • a type of family points pooling
  • Ability to roll over unused benefits like stay plus nights
They also asked questions about lifetime status, to which I responded positively as long as the targets are fair.

I rated the new explorer program poorly and was given a whole set of questions and free text about why - so I let them have my negative views about the recent changes such as requiring 2 nights to use the stay plus free night, some failures to provide status benefits (like breakfast or lounge) on free nights, and the reduction in dining benefits - we now only get 30% off when we travel instead of previous 50%. In free text I mentioned tht this all made the product less attractive to me and that after more than 20 years of membership I was seriously considering dropping it t next renewal.

They specifically also asked about satisfaction with loyalty recognition such a priority check in, welcome amenity and welcome drinks so I mentioned how totally hit and miss it all is with the result tht sometimes I was delighted, sometimes disappointed and sometimes just embarrassed.

I do quite a few surveys and this one felt a bit more detailed and hit the types of things I have been feeling peeved about. I wonder if there has been a drop off in membership numbers?

Oh and I forgot to add in the “paid enhancements” I listed above there was an option to recover expired reward points under consideration.

They also asked which other hotel programs I was a member of.

I got a survey, but it was pretty much just my experiences with the subscription programs. Didn't get any questions on enhancements!
