... - told the cards were not linked - but am getting points this year. Have been told to go to the Aclub website where I can claim last years points - haven't tried yet but will later.
You ONLY have a time limit of 6 months after a stay to report missing A|Club points.

They are supposed to post within 10 days.

You can't make a claim until you have waited 6 weeks.

If the Member notices that A|Club points have not been properly credited to his or her account after a minimum waiting period of 2 weeks, he or she may request that the balance be adjusted within a period of six (6) months following a stay at a participating hotel (based on the check-out date). For this, he or she must fill a claim by filling in the corresponding form in the Customer support section on a-club.com . Here the Member must prove details of the claim and submit a copy of the invoice from the hotel in question.
In order for the Member to be entitled to earn A|Club points, the invoice corresponding to the claim must imperatively be in (or include) the name of the A|Club Member.
The Member may submit other types of Program-related claims using forms also available in the Customer support section.
 
In 8 stays I have had exactly one post without putting in a claim; it took about 2 days.

Every other stay has required an image of the folio document to be sent off using their online form.
 
I see things as improving. My last stay posted in a few days.

Definitely saves the hassle of chasing it up !
 
Booked in to Sofitel Melb. wednesday night with an Accor booking & gave reception all my cards to confirm numbers Accor A/club & QFF. I was told that bonus points could go to EITHER A/club or QFF but NOT both. I think I've always received QFF points on my bookings so maybe that's why my A/club points have been light on. I'll check it out later when I have time. Has anyone else had this happen?

In that case, the A-Club points are better value, aren't they ??

2,000 points = 40 Euros / 60 US$

What can you really do with 2,000 QFF points ( by themselves ) ??

I recently purchased $US180 + 80 Euros in A-Club vouchers from a guy on Ebay for $AUS215.

I'm using them for an upgrade on three Advantage Plus Comp. nights at the Sydney Olympic Park Pullman. Family stay for my 50th birthday. We're got four rooms in total ( paid $166. for a King Club room ). All of us getting Club access at $70. per room, with the Comp. cert.s ...... put two hosties on that night, we're gunna be thirsty !!!

Update on my post #79

I have been trying to get a refund of my subscription to AdvantagePlus for about 2 months now.

I have spoken to 5 different people, on about 6 occasions. Each time I am given a different story, and new hoops to jump through. How hard can it be?

So ... if you are thinking about Accor ... take up A|Club, but avoid at all costs AdvantagePlus.

If anyone can tell me where I go next in my journey to get a refund, I'd really appreciate it. I asked AdvantagePlus where I go to if I am unable to resolve the problem with them and they were just silent. Is there a travel industry ombudsman, do I go to Fair Trading or do I go to ACCC? Accor certainly don't care.

Really, is it worth your time and effort ??

They probably have you on ' contract '.

Which means, they have more rights than you at Fair Trading etc.

Just play the game for the rest of your Membership year, and don't renew, if that's what you think.

If you haven't booked your comp. night, think about making a ' high value ' booking, and sell via Ebay to recoup
' most ' ( ? ) of your money.

However, I think you'll find, you only have 14, 21, or 28 days as a ' cooling off ' period, before your Membership becomes a fixed contract.

Thank Gordo, a great suggestion if I had to ride out my membership year.

The card has been cancelled, but trying to get the refund is all.

I cancelled the day I got the card and tried to make my free booking only to discover that the surcharge made by the hotel took the room price above the price I could get it on wotif.

Instead of staying at the Sofitel Melbourne, I stayed at the Crown Metropol ... a much, much nicer (and cheaper) hotel.

I can only say, that I've found them to be of value.

They do give a ' standard ' room on the comp. night, and sure, if you want an upgrade, you pay the surcharge.

However, in my personal experience, the surcharge is still good value. as I said previously, I'm paying a surcharge of $70. on the AP Comp. night, for a King Bed Club Room at the Pullman Olympic Park. AP Members' Rate is usually about $350. plus.

We've got two cards, and at a family dinner, we'll save at least $100. or more.

The surcharge I was asked to pay was (from memory) $120. I thought this was on any room at Sofitel Melbourne. But an individual experience I'm sure.

Sounds like the upgrade for a Club Access room.

Pretty standard charge for Sofitel. I've stayed at the Sydney Sofitel, and their upgrade from AP comp. night to King Club Room is $120.

Maybe not the most economical as a single business traveller. But for two people staying, the Club access gives you good quality food & drinks in the evening ( won't have to buy dinner ), and covers breakfast in the Club Lounge next morning ( saving $35. at Sofitels )

So, for $60. each, my wife and I enjoy the experience of the French bubbly and all the goodies to eat. If you break it down, that's $30. each for evening drinks / canapes & $30. each for breakfast next morning.

Even cheaper at Sydney Pullman - same upgrade for $70. total.

My stay at Pullman Sydney Olympic Park was quite enjoyable, and I got my A - Club points in 48 hours. I still had to submit a PDF copy of my stay account, as my accrued points were wiped, due to no activity for some months.

They restored all my previous points upon request, after the stay qualified.

We got one upgrade to a one bedroom suite, after paying $166.50 on ACCOR's 50% off promo. for a King Lounge Access Room. Paid $210. in upgrade fees for total of seven adults to the Club Lounge ( along with our two kids under 12 ) Advantage Plus comp. nights to Lounge Rooms.

Late check outs allowed us to stay until 1 pm, allowing for morning tea, after a complimentary Full Buffet breakfast. ( usually only a Continental breaky in Lounge, but only us + several others booked in to Lounge Access.

I think I got some good value from our two AP cards; a comp. bottle of wine cert., and the comp. coughtail vouchers they gave me on check in ( as a birthday gift / and or as a A - Club Plat. card holder ). Probably more so, being a long weekend and quiet.

My A|Club card is on the way now, apparently I spent a night at an Accor property in Egypt :rolleyes:

Hopefully they will use some of the proceeds from your stay to refund the money that they promised to me over a month ago (and several times since).

Geoff, the Pullman at Olympic Park seems to be a ' family business ' of a sort. My observation, from noting the staff in general. May be why they ' can ' be flexible, if they want to. Probably why it takes longer to get refunds from them, compared to other ACCOR associated properties.
