One nice thing about the F checkin is they'll print your BPs and give them to you in a gold F cardboard holder, for extra wankability as you go through customs.

SYD aren't that good with that to be honest. MEL much more reliable in that department.

I have sat there before with a Y ticket and NB status. Was not stopped by anyone as they were busy attending to "more important " passengers. I think they are faux leather.

:D nice one
I'm pretty sure they are exactly the same chairs as in the F Lounge by Poltrana Frau and not faux leather.

Outrageous! Next you'll be using the J lavvy on a 737!

Done that, and J loos on QF11 on a PE ticket and F loos on a J ticket:mrgreen:

But now I have a bit of status I don't appreciate lower castes using MY loos!!!.

At SYD the F checkin is at the far end from the kerb so the poor F passenger have to trudge through the great unwashed to get to their little sanctuary. Usually and as others have said - avoid the herd mentality and head for the shortest queue.

Sometimes the express card takes you to a longer queue at security and immigration. I tend to use the express card about half the time.

Travelling HLO I did use the MEL F checkin to get my BP for MEL-SYD-LAX. Asked nicely at the desk if they could issue my BP's, which they kindly did as well as giving me an express card.

Have also used the standard domestic J counters at MEL in the past for an international transfer and was told "we don't normally do this....." but they still had all the necessary documentation there (immigrations forms, etc.)

hapened to me at SYD T3 when connecting via MEL to LAX on the 93.
"We don't normally do through check to LAX". I just said I've done it before and all of a sudden it was OK!.

I always head outbound starting at BNE, so SYD is just a stopover with no need to do checkin or anything, so I have no reason to visit the First checkin there. But the other day I had a problem which BNE could not sort, so I went and saw the staff at the SYD First checkin area. (I am WP, was travelling in J)

They were FANTASTIC! They managed to fix something that saved me a lot of hurt, and really went out of their way.
