As an aside, I think it's odd that the flagship lounge at LAX has no work centre, so you have to leave and go to the admirals club to get on line.

It's targetted at the kind of people who don't do anything as vulgar as work. Or else they are creatives, dahling, and don't need computers. They have people to do that kind of thing.

FWIW, those using the F/L in LAX can approach reception and ask for a free T-mobile 24 hour WIFI card. They'll ask you name before giving you one and you'll be set for most A/C's the the next day or so. ;)

Damn - wish I had known that when I sneaked into the F lounge at LAX last time :( I paid for internet

No sign of CX fligts - but I expect them to post after about a week. Would rather see luggage ;)

I use T-Mobile when in the AA lounges in the USA. But I get access to all T-Mobile hotspots through our corporate remote access service, so access is quick and easy. It works well, even for VoIP calls.

It is intersting to note that when going into Qantas.com and entering your account that when in that section for the last 2 days, on the left hand column, they has "New Qantas Lounge Access Guide".
I think they will be stricter on the rules now that the new First Class is around.
I thought WP could have 2 guests at anytime, but that only states Domestic Lounges only. Is this a change.

I don't believe so - the published guest rules have been different for international and domestic QP's for some time.

There was a sign up in reception of the ADL QP yesterday saying "1 guest only". As I was travelling alone I did not ask if this also applied to WP's.

As it was about 6:00pm, it may simply have been a peak period restriction, although even at this hour, and with delays to flights to SYD and MEL, it was nowhere near as busy as the MEL, SYD and BNE QP's.

I forgot to ask about WPs, as well, the other week, (same situation, alone, but needing an urgent shower...)

Plus I got the - out I come from behind the counter treatment, by the head(?) guy at the desk, so (being from SYD , where they [T3 QP] hardly ever let their eyes glance away from the mag they are reading, which I like, I was a bit overwhelmed by this very nice domestic welcome in ADL.)

Actually, it was after a weagles game, and the players were inside the QP, with the supporters outside... anyway, I was walking around the terminal, and overheard the nuttiest looking supporters saying they wanted to get into the QP, I almost stopped and offered, but wondered if it was a deliberate move on QF’s part to keep them out of QP?

The Crows, and a legion of supporters, flew out yesterday to MEL for the game against the Saints, so this would have contributed to crowding in the QP.

I do find the staff at the ADL QP to be a lot more friendly than other QP's. I walked into the QP covered in dust and soot from the factory I had been in that day, looking forward to a nice hot shower, and the staff were very welcoming and searched around for sufficient amenities for me to try and get cleaned up

I had a similar situation like the OP a few years back. Traveling SYD-SIN-LHR (as two segments) I had completed my flight which made me WP in Singapore. But I was not able to convince the staff to let me in because the computer was just showing SG. They (very friendly) pointed me in the direction of the business lounge.

I have seen those signs dotted around the country and for most of those with QP access, they are accurate.

Generally lounge agents are aware that WP's can have two Guests domestically; it's been this way since Qantas did away with guest passes.
