I made a booking using QF points for a QF international award flight, is it possible to use my QR Platinum status to enter the QF F lounge at SYD while keeping the QF FF number on the booking to earn SC?

Do you get SC though on NON QF Metal?

If you’re a Points Club or Points Club Plus member, you’ll earn Status Credits on Classic Flight Rewards with a Qantas (QF) flight number, but not Qantas Points. View the Classic Flight Reward tables for details on eligible flights and earn rates.

Yes but its on QR metal not QF Metal so I dont see how even with points club SC are available.
I read it that the OP wants to add their QR Platinum to access the lounge but that it is on a QF flight. As noted above, should be doable but will need to change to the QR number for lounge access then seek to change it back to QF for the flight.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There was another post on this recently, which suggests that showing your QR card alone should be enough, regardless of the number attached to the booking.

In any case, as suggested above, I'd keep my QR/OWE number attached to the booking for now to get better seat selection and priority baggage.

Thanks everyone, it's an award booking so QF automatically attached my QF number to the booking, I will show my QR card at the lounge and get entry.

And yes, I was referring to QF Points Club for earning SC on QF metal.

You can book a QF award, using your QF points, for another person. There is a QF list of eligible family members. It does not list self, but does list sibling , who may be a 99.9% clone of yourself with a different ffn. ;)

Can confirm that QR card (including online version) will get you into QF lounges regardless of FF number on boarding pass (as long as it's open 🥲)
Yes, I've done that with my BA Gold card. No problem.

However the reverse can't be said. I once tried to use my Qantas Gold card to enter the BA lounge in Rome (when I was a BA Bronze) and the lounge dragon wouldn't allow it unless she put the Qantas number into my booking. So I went elsewhere.

I always get a bit confused as to why some PAX and/or lounge lounge staff seem to have trouble with the OW rules, access to any OW lounge when travelling on a OW carrier is based on status. I have booked Mrs&MissM (using my points) HK-JP and the other way around and F lounge access has never an issue. If booking classic rewards the flights will always be on the carrier (metal) code and as there are no points or SC earn (points club aside) I often forgot to add MrsM QFF number into the booking, she just showed the OW WP status card at the lounge and access was granted.

I know that 2-3 of the OW members have changed the access rules to be based on class of travel or specific to their own FF programs BA, and QR spring to mind.

QR Al-Safwa is one exception
You used to only be able to access with an F ticket but now you can if you are in J (not deep discount) and have QR Platinum status.
I presume they get round this by specifying it as a special lounge (like the Concorde Room at LHR) and provide other options for non-QR OWE

You can change/edit the Pax details before payment on Award bookings and add another program.
