I'm making a new thread as this is a global issue, not just about my RTW trip. When I made my initial RTW booking, they gave me 21 days to buy the ticket. I booked it with AA ATW desk in the States. I just called back to extend the ticket time limit, they refused to do it. They said the computer won't let them put more than 21 days as a ticket time limit because there are several airlines involved. I know that Dave Noble and other people on here have gotten better ticket time limits than that.
Is this something new because we no longer have a Sydney office? Has anyone been successful in the last month or so in getting a longer ticket tim limit?
My trip is in July 2007, I can't afford to pay for the tickets until Feb 2007, maybe Jan if we are lucky and watch the budget carefully.
For the moment, they rebooked the entire itinerary so I have another 21 days. Eventually, they will run out of L class inventory, especially on the LA/LP flights.
I am wondering if I would be better off booking with LA since they have an Australian office. Would the fuel fines be that much worse? Would they give a better ticket time limit?
