AA to get PE [not really - just E+]

I do love the flagship suites. Their premium economy doesn't sound that premium - more leg room only much like the NZ offering.

Agreed! This AA offering is the UA E+ style and not much in relation to the "Premium Economy" of other airlines.

On the NZ 772's it's more like Qantas's PE and on the 774's it better than QF's PE.

As for PE on the 773's - it a completely different animal.

USA/LHR will be the first routes to get them.

I was comparing it to domestic PE on NZ.
Never crossed my mind you meant that!

"Premium economy" is not what I would describe it as - especially since there is no food offering.

On their 320's and 733's, AirNZ call that "Space+"; with an additional 3" of pitch and nothing else, it's more like UA's E+ .

On re-reading I understand. This AA 'premium' is just additional leg room.

probably driven alot to combat Delta's Economy comfort section. and UA has one also from memory..

i flew from LAX - SYD r/t in their (DL) comfort zone.. while the extra leg room (4") was nice, Deltas Econ seats get a little hard on the butt after a few hours.. Hopefully AA softens the blow a little..

Its good to see alot more airlines offering Y+ service now though as alot of companies are putting the clamps on J tickets..

I have only flown the old flagship suites which replaced the coffins. This would have been about 18 months ago LHR-JFK.

I wouldn't consider just having an additional 3 inches or so of pitch constitutes "Premium Economy".

No, for PE, you need additional lateral space and a better F&B offering (BA notwithstanding). UA's E+ style does not cut it for me.

So this, IMHO, is not Premium Economy.

Cool, perhaps this means I can get a QF PE award ticket and fly AA PE
I wouldn't bother ...
