I have a number of domestic flights in the US next May / June. The flights are:
LAX-ORD
ORD-SLC
SEA-PHL
MIA-SFO
All flights will be in first and one way.
I 'v been checking pricing on the AA website and they are all over the place.
Most of them change daily with huge price differences at times. Could be up to $100 in either direction.
Is there a guide line of the best time to book or even best day of the week?
It is hard to tell what is reasonably priced. I also don't seem to find special fares other than booking an entire Holiday.
Any help or tips are apreciated

I have found with AA F fares in the past (most recent was for flying in April/May 2015) that with booking more than 6 months out, the fares almost always dropped, some quite significantly. At around 2 months out (or less), I saw that almost all of the fares had dropped.

Also, there are peak travel periods that could make things dearer.

Off the top of my head, I'd go with the two month in advance advice. Note that two connections longer than 750 miles are still better than a greater than 1500 mile non-stop.

Happy wandering

Fred

Try doing a search on flights.google.com ... There's a calandar price bargraph that gives a good guide as to patterns on your chosen routes.

Lookin at your itineray there's a lot of AA hubs in there ... that adds $$$ ...

Try checking prices via UA / DL hubs such as DEN.

There is a suggestion that "between 50 and 100 days" out - at least in the USA - fares are going to be most competitive.

".... Airlines Reporting Corp., which handles tickets sold through travel agents, pinpointed Day 57 as when you'll find the cheapest average domestic fares. But in a nod to the inexactness of the science, it also said that the lowest domestic prices are relatively unchanged about 50 to 100 days before a flight...."

You are checking aa.com ?

Normally, yes

And, Google Flights

But I have no fixed rule about "the best times", usually about 3-5 months out until I am reasonably be certain of the trips. That article suggested between 50-100 days.
