Apologies if this has been brought up before.
As a 3-4 time a year flight on J rewards from BKK-SYD losing Jetstar asia will be impacting similar flyers dramatically. No more rewards from BKK-SIN, which was more than not my route home (Jetstar to BKK and BA to SYD).
All i am seeing for rewards flights are now Jetstar to brisbane or perth and qf to sydney.
Is it even worth chasing status and PC yearly now for BKK flyers?

I mean availability has always been trash but they have just taken our SG route out making it even worse

Is it an option to use a LCC like Scoot to get to SIN and then pick up the BA flight from there to SYD?

I can see BKK-SIN is around $67 on Scoot, which seems pretty reasonable.

Have you checked if MH has anything via KL? Try the multi city tool - I can see some options.

I may consider MH, how is the business class there? The whole thing upsets me because booking a flight from BKK using scoot means no lounges, which means i usually get there nice and early and relax in the lounges.

A typical flight for me is get to BKK waltz into Qatar lounge, then direct to sydney if im lucky or get to BKK into cathay or similar onto JQ then to SG Qatar lounge J to sydney using BA.

I do realise i sound like a princess now, but things never get better only worse

I actually don’t mind even the old MH product and yes I’m weird but I actually prefer them to SQ. With their new aircraft though they seem to be running a much improved J product of which I’m yet to try but it looks decent enough

I’m not sure I understand, QF still flies BKK-SYD and CX still flies BKK-SIN.

3K no longer flies BKK-SIN but wouldn’t get you CX or QR lounge access anyway??

No idea. Figured you were looking for suggestions and alternatives.

Are there some other options you’ve looked into and dismissed? Via Honkers? Tokyo even with JAL?

I was and appreciate it. HK is still there but Cathay has gone missing, literally zero availability.
Tokyo i wouldnt because its too far the other way (6 hours in the wrong direction) and if im in japan i may aswell do japan.

They do, but its very hard to get availability for BKK-SYD and i have never seen availability for CX BKK-SIN. Actually didnt even know it existed.

I think my main gripe now is QF rewards is flooded with JQ all year where before it was partner airlines.

Sounds like the best solution is to make your own way to SIN and continue on from there as per usual.

If with luggage, I can even see SQ fares with $125 SGD, which is not too bad. And in the BKK-SIN direction it's extremely likely SQ will through check luggage to BA even though on separate booking. (BA won't to SQ in the other direction though).

A poorly constructed award ticket could cost more than $125 in extra surcharges vs now.

A CR route I have used returning from sojourns elsewhere includes [BKK to KUL] or [HKT to KUL] on MH and thence to AU.

Done it several times and a convenient points booking seemed to always be on the table. Maybe I have just been lucky (however the first sector often has to be in Y)
