A380 to visit Adelaide.

All well and good, but I suspect that once these things start arriving with real passengers, there will be biiiiiig problems. Arriving back in Melb on Air NZ 07 on Saturday, it took almost 2 (two) hours for the bags to be delivered to the carousel due to (and I quote the announcement here) "... a shortage of equipment".
Are you implying there will be problems due to the number of passengers on the aircraft? Remember that a full QF A380 means 450 passengers. And a full QF 747-300 means 450 passengers. Qantas has been dealing with full 747-300s with 450 passengers for many years, so I don't see any passenger load issues with the A380 in its current 450 seat configuration.

The dates AND THE TIMES are in my post (#34) on the previous page.

Ah thankyou very much :)

Where are the times/dates actually officially listed?
I don't think they are officially listed anywhere.

You can also get the dates and times in post #27. However, there is a slight discrepancy for 14 October between post #27 and #34.

I don't think it's coming tonight as it's not listed at all on the Adelaide Airport arrivals and departures website - when I've seen it there on both other occasions ... we might have to wait until Thursday.

ETA ... it did come 3/4 of an hour late and landed at 7pm. Still not sure why it wasn't on the AAL site!

Thanks for all the info re the visit of A380 to Adelaide. Have found all the good vantage points.

I went and watched this puppy take off this morning. Took off towards the west, so flew straight over my head in the carpark at the end of the runway. So big, and so quiet. A Qantas 737 took off just prior and the noise of the 380 was nowhere near the 737. Amazing.

Anyhoo, a question. Had the binoculars on him and he didn't bring the wheels up until after he'd turned left for Melbourne after take off. That's a long time in the air. The small ones have their wheels up over the top of the carpark. Any ideas why?

Perhaps the brakes were a bit hot and they left them dangling in the breeze to cool them down.

Yes, the wheels are left down to help cool the brakes.

The A380 is in Brisbane again tomorrow and Melbourne. Then Melbourne and Adelaide on Sunday - I don't know about Monday and on Tuesday it is in Perth and Adelaide.
