Duffa the bulk heads seats are now restricted to status pax - Gold Elite and above IIRC. I was so disappointed I didn't get to try 350 on May 5 as I had steel tape measure and all at the ready to get exact dimensions - but the sub was subbed out.

Even if I were to pay hard cash, these seats are reserved for someone else ??premium loyalty customers.
Unless of course, all of these flights have only 8 or 9 cash pax thus far and they all have wisely chosen the bulkheads!

Thanks CE.
If ever there was an admission of guilt then that is surely it!

Chance of them already selected by other pax next to zero - they are available to status pax Elite Gold and above - it is now SQ policy.

Edit: Duffa have you exp 350 J seats before? Did you find the footwell restrictive for sleeping? FWIW the footwell on 77WN looks really small compared to 380 - but I slept in J 2 weeks ago on 77WN and felt zero restriction during sleep.

Like I said, I'll survive :)
Having MY feet tucked in to a shoebox-sized recess is always better than some other pax's feet tucked under my nose.
I still pinch myself when I reflect that even today, with all the "enhancements", I'm paying less for J than I used to pay for Y.

Thanks AFF

You can select Row 19 over the phone, but if a pax later needs a bassinet seat you will be moved.

Row 11 for KF Gold or PPS members only - available to all once check in opens according to call centre staff.

Sleep style obviously plays a big part - as a side sleeper who tends to curl into a feotal position I find it easy to get comfy without a footwell as long as i've a flat surface of sorts...

I had another flight, and it was okay.

Comparison shots of minor differences in J seat between a350 and 773 over on sqtalk - They're actually different! (A350 vs 77WR/N J) - SQTalk

Nice - I am still waiting for CE's scientific review... Next sub sub sub squared sub?

I was under the impression you were PPS... so they would obviously greet you by name as it's a very high level? I understand you're saying how did they know who you were, but for valued customers I'd say it's expected.

Yeah, I am not sure if maybe the gate discretely radios down, or perhaps there is a mugshot on the manifest.

It would be unlikely that they knew me as I am not particularly famous, and I didn't recognise any of the crew.

Actually it appears to be PPS only: my latest flight was booked when I was still just KF Gold, and I was unable to select the bulkhead seats (showed as blocked on EF). But I qualified for PPS shortly after, and suddenly was able to select them.

Welcome to the club... although I may drop  . I need to check my "preserved value".

Is their a diff bw 'Gold' and 'Gold Elite'? My advice came from KF call ctr agent but TBH I have NFI.

AFAIK, on SQ they are interchangeable. "Gold" may also include *G.

However on Air New Zealand there is quite a difference. Gold and [Gold] Elite are quite different status levels.

Well I'm feeling thankful I selected bulkhead seats each way on the A350 before that was bought in  at least they are still stuck at this time in my current booking.

Well, I've now done 5 or 6 legs on the A350 shoe box footwell and I'm getting used to it. I don't have a major problem and am no longer bothered if I cant snare a bulkhead.

I wonder if there is a level of intercom detail from the boarding pass staff to the on flight staff to give advance details of who is boarding, eg. Brunette lady with red dress is named Penegal. Fat bald guy with leather briefcase is called Bob. Etc.

Trust me, I have never worn a red dress...

Just for clarity, i have not met you, or know your name, or know anything about you. Sorry if i caused any offence. It was just a throwaway though, probably not 100% thought out.

Do not stress - all taken in good humour.

I was just saying red isn't my colour... Whites, blacks and earthy tones all the way.

And usually trousers rather than dresses, but that's a minor technicality.

Now @samh004 is going to scout his photo archive for me wearing something red just to make a liar of me :p
