A330 - XFA/B - Refit?

Sitting in the MEL VA lounge - unsurprisingly an announcement comes over the speakers that a service to PER has been delayed by an hour due to tech issues on an 330 aircraft. What are the odds it's A or B? :p

It was VHXFE

It was yes. Crew put out an apology over the PA for the "vintage" IFE. Apparently there were a lot of complaints in economy.

even if they swapped carriers..they would still find a reason to whinge about QF:shock:
the pax would just be transferring their 'issue' to QF..I guarantee they would find an 'issue' on QF:shock:

Not Sure how "Just seen XFB parked at the gate in SYD, looks like I'll be on it for the flight to PER " or "It was yes. Crew put out an apology over the PA for the "vintage" IFE. Apparently there were a lot of complaints in economy." constitute a whinge? they were both statements/observations not complaints - Never said I don't like Virgin. As some else said earlier if you don't like the thread unsubscribe

I do chuckle that VA still have these 2 birds flying around!

They could have a perfect fleet of A330's by simply upgrading these aircraft

Amateur hour continues

I amazed that QFs well flagged A330 renovation has not prompted a response

Of course, with QF's 332's you are more likely to get a PE style seat than not.

Yes they are all to be upgraded but that's still months away from starting.

Crew mentioned last week that xfa/b will be grounded around sep 2014 , presumably when the latest a330 gets delivered

Not to be cynical or anything, but there have been many a time where Galley Talk has made mention of XFA/B getting touch ups etc, but still waiting...

I think the galley talk is that these will no longer be flying after this year ....

The galley talk was that the last time they were sent away for MX they'd be refurbed. Obviously never happened.

I had numerous issues flying VA
Yet to have any flying QF :)

Because at this stage it's still going ahead :)

XFA to be withdrawn from service in September. XFJ will be delivered as replacement.
XFB to be withdrawn from service in December.
