This is perhaps a different or strange thread. But in these times I think it is worth it.

We, as a society, have entered a bewildering era of lock-downs and “social distancing” and so forth. Life has truly changed in the past two months in ways that none of us would have imagined. So many of us that are keen on travel are also keen on the similar pursuits – going to restaurants, socializing, and generally getting out there in the local community and throughout the world.

Yet all that has come to a sudden halt. Now we sit at home and try to make sense of the new reality. Whether it be cancelling much-longed-for travel fun, or sheerly dealing with the reality of kids plaguing us 24/7. This is a new and hard era.

I suspect that many are like me – this beautiful connection via AFF to so many awesome other people, many of whom we claim as friends even though we have never met – has now become an even more important part of our existences.

So I want to pause for a moment and give the deserved recognition to AFF that it really merits.

I invite you all to take just a few moments and post what you value from AFF. I will lead by example….

First up, I acknowledge not AFF as an entity, but the mods. These are people that give their time to keeping the whole forum running decently and peacefully. Theirs is an essential task that I truly respect. And with members being locked down and going crazy, their workload can only increase in these troubled times :) So to all mods, Thank You!!

Secondly, to Clifford, who is the cornerstone of the whole thing, I thank you for making real a forum where I have managed to connect with so many outstanding people. It has really changed my life. I have met, both online and then in person, people who are now significant friends.

Lastly, I want to thank all of the members. Some of you I have had the occasional tiff with. Others I have found a like perception of the world and thus agreement in almost everything. I personally value each of these. This forum is unique in my opinion where you get to hear from people from all manners of life.

Anyway, again thanks to AFF as an entity. This may be an era of reduced travel, but here you provide all us wanna-be travelers a point in which to meet and socialize and prepare for the future :)

Thanks @juddles
For me, it is really simple how much I value AFF.
When the social distancing started, I consciously wrote down all my friendship and support networks.
AFF is on the list. I spend time on it each morning when I wake up and after work. So it is a part of my life and I am grateful for it, with or without the virus.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

As a relatively new waffler on AFF I am also quite pleased this exists
I engage on a few forums and occasionally put a post on serous threads :)
As @juddles said I have no doubt the moderators are working overtime in conjunction with their version of coping with Covid 19
Thanks :)
I do check AFF multiple time a days.
Just one day hopefully when travel is back, albeit unlikely to how we used to travel , I am able to return some of the lovely posts and thoughts and umm yes amenities kits (still love them ) to others
