Does the sale also apply to corporate memberships? Could be good for any Gold members here.

So you mean the lounges are not overcrowded? I cannot believe a company rep from Qantas would say the lounges are overcrowded therefore we are removing Anytime access from Platinums and it was not actually true. Do you?And now wait for the onslaught of posts about anytime access and overcrowding.

Nope - the lounges are still overcrowded (on occasions), but not so much as they used to be when those pesky WPs were rorting the system.
[My job is done - I'll be off now!]
Given the any time access issue was a WP only issue and this is a QP sale then any additional QP members have no impact on over crowding in the J lounge.
Except they didn't just stop us accessing the J lounge, they stopped us accessing any lounge. If the "over-crowding" was limited to the J lounges then they could have easily just relegated WPs to the QP.
See above comment. Anytime access was only supposed to be for the QP, hence J lounge shouldn't come into it, despite the common experience of being able to use the J lounge.
I actually thought that was the case, but wasn't 100% certain.
Whether or not I think they're overcrowded isn't relevant. So you mean the lounges are not overcrowded? I cannot believe a company rep from Qantas would say the lounges are overcrowded therefore we are removing Anytime access from Platinums and it was not actually true. Do you?

I was just postulating that this thread would quickly descend into discussion about overcrowding. It kind of did.
You know, the whole thing about anytime access removal? It's done. That ship has sailed and no amount of complaining about it on AFF is going to bring it back (sure, it's good to vent sometimes).
FWIW I do think the MEL QC lounge is overcrowded sometimes.
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
AH.Well I took up this offer and joined the Qantas Club so I guess that means an extra person in the lounge contributing to the troublesome overcrowding![]()
Actually the way it worked for me when the business lounged first opened was I was using anytime access to access the Qantas Lounge and I was encouraged to go into the business lounge by reception. I was acually told that Platinums had unofficial anytime access to Business Lounges. But plenty of people here have said that they could use the J lounge anyway regardless of the technical rules. They could've tried enforcing their rules, but that's another story.
AH.
Someone admitting to being part of the problem :!:![]()

... Due to overcrowding in the lounges!I am patiently waiting for the next enhancement where Golds and possibly Platinums lose complimentary Qantas Club membership. Well at least for domestic only itineraries....
