Actually I received neither the approval nor email with star alliance id . Checked all folders

Did you receive other correspondence by email? Any chance there’s a mistake with your email address they have in file?

You should have got at least two or three during the process… including approval and the star alliance ID.

I only got first email saying documents need to be uploaded for approval
Approx how long does it take to receive card ?
Star alliance rewards have responded to say ID can be ascertained from HSBC app once physical card is activated .

Good question. Transactions post same as any other credit card, you can’t however view those on line.

But the points I think you can view on your star alliance account (the rewards one, not the airline one).

I thought I’d made the required spend but wasn’t sent my nomination for star gold. It turns out I’d paid a government fee. While I guessed that pretty quick, I don’t think it was confirmed until my statement had posted and it then showed up on the star alliance website.

It the quickest way to find out is that you’ll automatically get sent a nomination email once you hit the required spend.

6 Jan 1:30pm. Applied, online ID verification worked well, instant conditional approval. Uploaded payslip.

7 Jan 10:05am. Approved.

8 Jan 9:00am. Star Alliance Rewards ID received.

Very smooth process. Hoping the card arrives before P2 has some major dental work done on Wednesday!

One remedy might be to pay govt using zip and then pay zip using the card . Waiting to see if this works for hsbc .
