50 sc short of platinum, any chance to economically gain some SC in Europe?

I stand corrected:

Have to say its good to see, a law that makes sense in the current political environment, what a pleasant change.

I'm not so sure about the goodness of the law. Like the calls for mandatory ID checks I think it's more designed for domestic policing purposes. A person not known to police, intent on attacking an airline is hardly going to be bothered by having to use their real name.

What law would they be breaking that makes it illegal (as opposed to being against the terms and conditions)?

Hint: None!

Hint: Fraud. You're saying you're someone else. It's also obtaining benefit by deception possibly.

I'm sure there's also a serious breach of the aviation act there too. I'm no laywer though.

As per the linked report until that new laws came in it was not illegal, under fraud or aviation laws, now there are two specfic laws covering it:

  • Taking a flight using an air passenger ticket in a false name – an offence under Section 376.4(2) Criminal Code Act 1995.
  • Using false information to obtain an air passenger ticket – an offence under Section 376.3(1) Criminal Code Act 1995.

Stunning given the events of the last 13 years that they only were put in place on the 28th Nov last year.

Im going to end up 50 sc short of plat this year :( Are there any known ways of economically accruing SC in Europe?

My anniversary is at the end of Oct and I have booked flights on the 5th Nov and 12th Nov that would have taken me over 1400 sc. Will qf be nice (I know they dont have any obligation whatsoever) and bump me to plat or will I have to start again?

Airberlin has a sale on until Thursday with €88 return fares ex Berlin (and possibly other cities) - may be worth having a look :)

I still feel that these laws are not a deterrent to undertaking the major events of the last 13 years.

Ended up 110SC short as I missed two flights due to sickness. They wouldn't comp me even though I had full Y flights booked up until end of Jan or so...
