My biggest dilemma is whether to accept this one, or wait for a DSC which may or may not come early next year!!!

I think these are a rolling promotion. There seems to be very few weeks go by without someone reporting one

One can only hope! Funny you say that, as I was flying all QF J until a VA sale kicked in a few months back. Now I'm flying all VA J, so to QFF, it would look like my activity has dropped off (and with them, it has). I've actually been sweating on a bonus SC offer to come along from QFF as I requal WP with VA by the end of this year and I'll need bonus SC's to requal WP with QF by my review date!

Perhaps this is an example of us playing them!!

Maybe this could explain why I have yet to receive any targeted offer, I always have a number of bookings at any time.

I also received this (for the 3rd time this year IIRC, on top of the DSC offer at the start of the year).

In my case I am sitting on 700 SC with my membership year ending on Jan 31; I did not avail of the first offers but in this case I am taking advantage of the current fare sale to get me up to Plat renewal level, so I will not to have to rely on being comp-ed. I have cut back my travel on QF fairly sharply this year, but OW Emerald is still worth having.

Decision marketing at it's finest. The good thing about these automated offers is that once you figure out what triggers them - it can be Christmas every day for you...

At least Qantas normally send these offers at the start of the promotion period. A certain airline recently sent me an offer to, umm, Enrich my account with Double Tier Miles. I got the email at the end of the promotion period

I'm not sure they're linked to promotion periods because many airlines these days do micro promotions ie: not targeted at the entire member base.

Another Asian based loyalty program in China doesn't send mass member emails anymore. It's all split by propensity of the member to engage in the promotion.

OK, so they are targeted, and different. Mine is right to use up until 10/3 but I have to book before the 16/11. I rechecked and my offer also arrived on Friday night rather than Saturday as I stated in the OP.

I somehow received this promotion but Qantas already knows I have most flights booked through to end of March.
