Ouch - on the guardian f1 blog....

Chris Pollard is a Sergio Perez fan. “Racing Point’s treatment of Pérez is shameful,” he emails. “Invoking a blatantly unfair clause, which was only triggered because of coronavirus-related circumstances, and nothing to do with personal performance, is cynical and selfish. Lawrence Stroll is turning Formula One into a nepotistic circus. Lance Stroll would not hold down a seat in any decent team, and he’s only there because daddy is paying for the team. Lawrence Stroll needs to play the game fairly, or get out of Formula One. This isn’t his personal toy.

“No one is going to take Lance Stroll seriously until he has the guts to walk away from this gravy train, and prove himself in a team on the basis of his ability, rather than his family DNA.”

Thought I'd watch the first 20 - 30mins... 59* laps later. Oops. ( * Disclaimer - not 59 laps of racing).

Good to see a little bit of action to make it interesting. I wonder what the damage bill $ wise from the weekend will be? o_O

Expensive race yes. Bit frustrating to see RIC settle for another 4th, I guess good on ALB though for finally getting that podium. What a crazy race though.

Anyone wondering if the AUSGP will actually proceed next year? Surely a decision must be soon.

Definitely unsatisfying in terms of actual racing. I must be a sadis_ because I was hoping for another safety car in the final 10 laps or so, or that the tyre wear issues for Mercedes caused a puncture and wiped out their chances of a 1-2.
Or anything really that would see anyone but a Hamilton, or Bottas, win.
And a tattoo for Cyril.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Aus GP. If it's to remain early in the season, you'd have to wonder if Melbourne can host it. So the question - does it still happen in Aus, or cancelled?
Unsurprisingly when this was mentioned the other day the AGP Corp shot down the potential for it to go interstate. Realistically it would be Tailem Bend if it goes somewhere else.
If only Bathurst was a sufficiently sized track, that would be quite cool indeed.

I thought half the paddock is only there because of Daddy's Money....

Just finished watching it...entertaining except for the usual Mercedes 1-2.
Ricciardo a bit unlucky not to get 3rd.

That race was amazing, though I'm not sure some of the drivers/manufacturers felt the same way. When that second stack happened on pit straight I was certain the whole race was going to be canned – I remember watch a V8 supercar race many years ago when a car on the grid stalled and as the cars behind went around, one didn't and drove right into the LPG tank, huge fireball!

Shame about Ricciardo.

That was huge! I think it was Perth if memory serves - maybe a decade ago.

Shame Ham didn’t miss Q3 would have made the race amazing. Now likelynprocessional (hope I’m wrong).

Also much better start time (910pm east coast).
Yes, if only a few were able to back him up a little longer in that frantic last 2 minutes. Could have seen a much different race tonight.
