Who knows what LEC did to pull that lap out, he's starting P4. RUS shows that having the right car makes all the difference....... P2.

I wonder if Lewis is upset over that, after all, it makes it look like it's less about his skill as a driver and more about the mechanics of the car? Of course, a quick lap time to qualify is one thing, knowing when to push, stay out a few extra laps or pit is a completely different story in a full on race. Perhaps his P2 wont translate to anything and swing it back to driver skill being the key.

STR showed that a few races back, although some poor decisions around pitting etc. didn't help which is also down to the team rather than the driver. Will be very interesting indeed to see how the race goes today.

What a horrible start for VER and LEC, they will not be happy with PER. Great start for RUS.....

Shocking luck for Russell.

Absolutely, Mercedes completely screwed the double stack. RUS managed to get back to P2 and likely would have overtaken PER quite easily...... then a flat dropped him to the back, very unlucky. First P1 for PER, P2 for OCO and first points for RUS after some late overtaking on the fresh set of soft tyres.

After seeing replays of lap 1 it looks more like LEC error rather than PER, although PER could have given a little more space.

It appears the stewards agree with you too. I think Perez slammed the door shut pretty hard and contributed to that also.

Finally got around to watching the last 2 races...been away on a road trip.

Grosjean was lucky but why was the barrier armco and not cement?

Hamilton out made for an upset but Russell should have won but for the puncture.
If Verstappen and LeClerk were running it would have been interesting.

Can we put Hamilton in the Williams next time and see how good he is?

I would pay for that to happen, would be very interesting.

Looks like Haas has is going to have their hands full with Mazepin next year. The season isn't even over and he's already in hot water.

Another season completed. Congratulations Hamilton and Mercedes for the titles, and Perez and McLaren for best of the rest.

Great to see VER win, the first time Mercedes haven't come P1 in the Hybrid era. Of course that was due to the engine power being turned down as they were concerned about reliability issues. It was also the only poll of the season that wasn't a Mercedes powered engine; with HAM, BOT and STR sorting that.

Sainz cleared for slowing down too much in the pit lane so McLaren secures 3rd in the constructor championship, so that'll be a nice boost for the team and hopefully useful for RIC next year.

Will be interesting to see if PER does end up at RBR next year too.

He will never get his helmet on next year....

Interesting comments by Webber about Russells great performance in the Merc gonna cost Hamilton millions $$$ in pay cuts...if he comes back.
