Nasty crash, but they both seem ok.

Having work the last 14 days straight here in Vietnam, I made sure I got back in time to my apartment to watch the race tonight.

One good thing about being in a different timezone... I don't have to goto bed straight after the race. :)

RIP Jules Bianchi. Terrible news.

Yes I just saw the news on the F1 site by pure chance as well, very sad news, seemed to have been kept very low profile and won't possibly be widely reported.

On another note - its interesting that the F1 thread here has been dormant before and after one of the most exciting races of the season from Silverstone! Whether that's because it wasn't on FTA TV or maybe everyone has given up on F1 this season due to the dominance of the Mercedes cars or other reasons is difficult to say.

I did see the race on Fox and must admit I was entertained pretty much the entire race, unlike a lot of the the races this season.

I suspect combination of above. Reckon the switch to Fox has driven away a lot of Aussie fans, as well as Merc dominance RB failures

The sponsors should really push Bernie for it be back on FTA worldwide. IIRC only 30% of homes in Australia have pay tv. As a result the sponsors won't get as much value for their sponsorship dollar. However Bernie keeps it rolling in.

I have cancelled my Fox sports subscription. I worked out that I will only be home for one or two more 'Fox' races this season, so will just stream them.

I told the agent I spoke to that I had only got it for the F1, and it wasn't worth the cost.

Edit: Silverstone was a great race. I recorded it and had a self imposed media blackout until I watched it the next day. Glad I did.

Lack of FTA a prime reason I've lost interest, and with dominant Mercs I'm certainly not going out of my way at midnight to find Foxtel.

I have foxtel for the footy, so F1 would be a bonus ... except that i have not watched F1 on Fox at all this year ... boring really.

A race well and truly worth staying up for. Well done to the top 3.

A real good tribute to Jules at the start too.

Cracking race. Ric risked it all a number of times and came off second best twice.

If Ros had given him room (which would have ended better for Ros) think Dan was on for P1.

But that's life, great race, and a great tribute to Jules

Agree, it's the first race in some time that has actually been worth watching.

Lack of FTA coverage and an early start = me missing what seems to be the best race of the year. Very happy for the RBR boys with their first podiums (And DK's first ever podium).

Felt bad for Kimi, leading and what possibly looked like a race he could win and take all the heat off him from the media, but it wasn't to be.

Rosberg continuing in the same way he has all year - it's always someone else's fault! Great to see drivers really racing, and in doing so seeing Riccardo getting back to what made him successful.

I was watching some of the post race on Foxtel this morning and it seems Mercedes thought RIC was in the wrong for his touch on ROS?

Hardly defending RIC here but ROS did drift out very wide on the exit of the corner. Also HAM hit RIC harder than I thought!

Monday nights are the best, I watch the full post race coverage just before bed. Shame there is another break now!

I think in both incidents that involved RIC the Mercedes cars were at fault. Bunch of muppets.
