Oh dear, I'm sure it's not all bad news. At least France didn't surrender to Libya so you should be able to move about freely. However you do need to be aware that Paris will be full of French people - never pleasant.

I think we were getting towards a consensus of drinks and food in the exec lounge so if you don't have HH status I would choose the rate that gives you lounge access (I paid $249 for an exec floor room).

With HHonors, if your Diamond My Way™ On-Property Benefit setting for "Hilton® Hotels & Resorts" is set to "Receive a space-available room upgrade, including breakfast." it guarantees Executive lounge access where there is one open.

HHonors room upgrades themselves are on an "availability" basis and might not be given. In some cases a room upgrade may be imperceptible. HHonors benefits do not include upgrades to suites; however this does not preclude a property from doing this anyway.

Yes to question one and I would not include it as IF we decide to go to the restaurant there should be enough of us with HPC discounts to get the 20% off for all.

Any in-hotel dinner bill (or part thereof) booked to the room of a HPC holder will have a 20% reduction on F&B.
