1st Class Lounge

I loved the First lounge in SYD. I've experienced it twice already. Looking forward to many more. My next visit is in a week's time.

If I can get up early to catch the 6.30am instead of the 9.30am flight from PQQ when connecting international through SYD just to spend more time in the F lounge, then the F lounge must be very good.

The sacrifices we make...

If I choose the unpleasant experience of JQ35 over QF then the Flounge must be great :)

Nothing is worth getting up that early - not even the F lounge ;)

and if anyone wants guesting into Flounge on Thursday morning, I'm on QF107 and should arrive about 8am. PM me

Pity can't use it on arrival previous night, maybe say have no accom. so sleeping at airport they might let us in :).

I'm interested that everyone is so positive about the spa. Out of about 6-7 visits to the Flounge I've only managed twice to get spa appointments, both times rather grudgingly and once with the therapist breathing garlic fumes into my face the whole time. One appointment was 10 mins and the other was about 20 mins. It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm flying in J or discount Y as to the chance of getting an appointment, it's just a lottery a bit like QF points upgrades.

I've always enjoyed the Spa - no garlic experiences thank goodness :). It is relaxing before the flight. Obviously not as much fun as on a tropical island or something, but still a positive experience. Did have a facial at the spa at the arrivals lounge in T5 last year and didn't enjoy that. They use a massage chair while doing the facial and I found that quite unpleasant.

Only had a massage in the spa once. It was nice but I kinda felt a bit light-headed after. Perhaps the 3 glasses of Veuve beforehand contributed to that. I suppose the additional glass of Veuve after the massage wouldn't have helped either. Main thing was that I managed to get on the plane in one piece to enjoy a further 3 glasses of Comtes before lunch was served...

Ok now I feel good - next time Mr FM whines about my bubbly consumption, I will use you as an example of the average person :D

I just had my first visit to the SYD F lounge and was surprised by how busy it was. Could not get a table to eat so was offered light meals at the lounge section. Also due to number of people it was like a noisy pub - could not hear my partner speak across the table!

This was today before QF5 dept at 1.10pm - just a bad time to go or is 11am always this bad?

First world problems I know but seriously the gate was more quiet and relaxed...

Typical, and gets worse on Sundays.

Thanks for the warning. Will have to get there earlier for late morning flights then...

Thanks. Flight is 10.50am so will get here earlier 7.30am or so.

I have got off QF8 a number of times and had no issues getting a table, the A380s to LA and HKG along with the retimed Asian flights keep the staff on their toes.

Good to see the passion for the First Lounge is still there for some people.

Seriously, it's not that good. When I fly JQ35 it is for the company.
I tend to agree.

Would love to visit the First lounge for the company but sadly my doctor has warned me about flying Jetstar.
