Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Earlier this year a colleague and I watched someone come into the SYD F lounge, sit in a window chair near by and proceed to demolish a Big Mac Meal and a box of chicken nuggets   :!:

That person had possibly been eating every meal for a week with a) obsessively "healthy " eaters; b) vegans; c) add your own idea here; and d) they were going to report home to said person's SO on deviant behaviors. So, they finally managed to shake the others off, retreat into the anonymity of the Flounge to tuck into some comfort food.

Similar comfort food experience, not the Flounge though, with a lovely quiet lecturer from the US who was eating very sparingly and healthily at every lunch & dinner for 4 days, & we also had 2 breakfast meetings. Said our farewells at ADL before checkin, he was flying DJ, then I headed for the QP. Decided it would be nice to invite him in, so went in search. And there he was with a hotdog of some sort half the way down his gullet & a hand full of chips in the other hand lining up for a chance to get to his mouth. Katsup smeared on his cheeks. I nearly died with swallowing my mirth. He, poor guy, could only desperately keep trying to choke the hotdog down, with onions & stuff going everywhere ! :D

After maybe 30 visits to the Flounge I am still looking forward to being there in around 10 days. It ranges in how busy it is, but I have never found it to be too busy. Can always find a place to zone out. And there is constant change as folk head off, so then I can move to one of the window recliners, or my favourite table for a meal.

It creates a nice little mental health break after the busy work that surrounds leaving for a week or 2. And actually all the QF lounges do this in a little way, even when heading off domestically.

Agree with Fifa that the corn fritters are a great breakfast. Light & fluffy, and totally unlike other corn fritters I have had. I bypassed them for ages, expecting them to be not so good, until I saw the reviews on AFF. Same for my lunch choices.. Now for lunch it's hard to go past starting with the tomato, mozzarella & basil with balsamic, followed by the salt & pepper squid. Then the pav. This makes for a light enough lunch that I can still lie flat for a massage. And be a bit peckish a couple of hours after takeoff.

Get a couple of poached eggs with the corn fritters and other lovely bits & pieces - just a sensational meal (well breakfast anyways....)

How does that compare to SQ The Private Room at SIN (will try that for the first time there also on my way back)?

The Private Room at SIN, even the patrons fall asleep at the tables.
