As a new WP and having not been in the 1st class lounges as yet, but will soon, the good woman and I are staying at the new Rydges hotel at Sydney Int. airport overnight, Mrs lime suggested have breakfast there I say no the 1st lounge, we depart on QF127 at 10.50am gives plenty of time to check it out, so what should we expect?.

You will love it. Only problem is that if you have bags, the earliest you can check luggage in would be 7.50am
Enjoy

I believe the A380 flights have a longer check in window and there is anacdoetal evidence the F desk will also facilitate this, I would aim for breakfast in the lounge keeping in mind it will be busy.

as markis10 has said, the SYD F Lounge can get busy during the morning, so you may have to wait for a table to open up. If you are pushed for time, they still can take your order and you could eat at the coffee tables I guess, but if you get there as early as possible, you should be OK and enjoy a great breakfast served at the normal dining tables.

Are you sure it is 10:50 - I am on QF 127 on the 25th and it is 9:50 departure? (And will be staying at the new Rydges hotel as well :). ). Definitely breakfast at the lounge - they have a very nice breakfast menu and of course a glass of bubbly to go with it. In the past I haven't found the lounge that busy in the morning, but posts here suggest that it is now quite crowded, so getting there early is a good idea - pretty easy given where you are staying. I would suggest one of you get a table, while the other heads down to the Spa (far end of the lounge) to get some bookings (unless you are travelling F in which case you will already have them?). Enjoy breakfast, have your treatments and then another's glass of bubbly while relaxing in a chair :). disclaimer - yes I am aware that 2 glasses of bubbly before 10am is not healthy, but somehow planes and bubbly go together no matter the time.....

I would echo others, the b'fast option in the First Lounge will be better than at the Rydges!

First lounge for sure... It means your already checked in and ready to go, plus it means you get to experience the bliss that is the FLounge, a place where people will chose to fly JQ for the sole fact it will gain them access to it.

Don't some of the international flight times change after the clocks go forward. Might be a flight post the change?
ah OK - wish mine was - 9:50 is a bit rushed - but then on the other hand I get to escape the Canberra winter blues....

My fave Flounge breakfast item is the corn fritters with bacon, avocado, sour cream and the delish tomato jam.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Expect a lot of champagne and maybe a massage if you get lucky

Good Lord! Flounge vs Rydges for breakfast? Thank-you linesmen, thank-you ballboys, the Flounge it must be!

Check in as early as possible (3 hrs would be the mimimum; more likey 4 hrs), straight to Flounge, book a spa treatment each as soon as you arrive, then brekkie (try the eggs Florentine with smoked salmon and the green figs etc); champagne.

By boarding time you should be floating ...

Stop it you lot, still 40 days until my first ever Sydney F lounge experience. Went the early flight out of Perth to allow 4 hours.

Both myself and Mrs 340 are big fans of the corn fritters. It's just a pity our recent flights have been afternoon / early evening departures and we've had to make do with the wagyu carpaccio and grilled snapper ;)

Is the check in 4 hours for all A380 flights as will be on QF1 soon and want to maximise my time there?

You made a great decision Ashleyn. You will love the First Class Lounge in Sydney!
