Got declined for this one, which really annoyed me... Applied for a different card with them late last year for 0% BT, approved but never activated the card and by the time I decided to, they said I needed to reapply as that card was dead. Okay, fair enough. Nothing has changed since then except my income has gone up and I have no other unsecured debt (did on the previous application, but since paid it off). Veda score is fine but a bit lower due to getting the Amex Explorer, so that can be the only thing to cause a decline. Pretty coughpy advice to reapply only to be declined.

Yep that is cough advice for a cough result. I am beginning to think Westpac are placing more of an emphasis on recent applications than other institutions. Your experience would seem to indicate this too.

Just wondering whether there are anyone here who has Premier Advantage Package, and got the 100000 Bonus points, then claim the annual fee back?

Second dollop of 50K points just banked - 60 days (2 statements) after completing qualifying spend, so as expected.

Looking at my Westpac Altitude statement my 100,000 Qantas bonus points have been allocated today (but are not yet in my QFF Account).

This was the second statement cycle after meeting spend requirement in first cycle (but paid off card balance in second cycle).

So good to get them in one hit. Or it will be when they show up in QFF Account :)

An now the points are in the QFF account - sweet :)

For those who have received the 100k bonus, when did your annual fee get charged?

Mine was charged in first account cycle about two weeks after I started using the card.

In the first billing cycle a few days before it ended.

Thanks. I had to double check the T&Cs and it has probably been mentioned here, but it looks like the 100k offer is really $395 for 50k.
You are just getting a second opportunity to get the second 50k by spending $2500, but having to pay $395 for that option. The first 50k has no annual fee for the first year for Altitude Black/Platinum for existing Westpac customers until 20 April 2017...

Indeed, $395 for 50,000 is the right way to think about this offer given Westpac are giving away 50,000 points for free. it is not difficult to become a Westpac customer by merely opening a bank account - this thread contains a number of reports of members (myself included) opening accounts for the sole purpose of taking advantage of the '50,000 points/no annual fee in first year' offer for existing customers.

Aren't there 2 current offers

50K and $0 first year annual fee for existing customers https://www.westpac.com.au/personal-banking/credit-cards/reward/altitude-black/

100K and $395 first year Altitude Black | Westpac Credit Cards (does appear to allow existing customers)

Yes, but the required spend is $2500 vs $5000 for the 50k vs 100k respectively. For some people that may be a big enough difference to not go for the 100k. Plus the Black is a higher level card with different criteria. You can get the lower level Platinum with lower point earn for 50k and no annual fee for the first year.

Yes, but the point is that anyone can become an 'existing customer' and thus those choosing the 100,000 points offer are effectively paying $395 for an additional 50,000 points.
OK, makes sense. Incidentally Kangol mentions the extra 50K having a $2500 spend threshold whereas the link I have requires 5K spend, is there another link/offer I'm not aware of?

Ah cough should have gone with the 50k but another 50k for 400 bucks isn't too bad i guess

Platinum = $2500 for 50k
Black = $2500 for 50k

Both are standard offers on the website and currently have no annual fee for the first year for existing Westpac customers.
There is another thread on the Platinum:

Black also has a $5000 for 100k (that is what I mean by "extra" 50k for an "extra" $2500), but you have to pay the $395 annual fee.

With the 100K offer , have anyone here successfully closed a Westpac credit card to apply again for this offer and get 100K post ? I currently hold a Westpac Altitude Credit card from late 2016 ( first year free with 50K points ) and thinking about canceling the card just for the purpose of re-apply for this 100K Offer .

Wastepac offers 100k points per $395 annual fee = 0.00395 per point
nab offers 75k points per $250 annual fee = 0.003333 per point. If you cancel the nab card fast enough after the points get posted and before the annual fee is charged, you get the points for free.

If you don't need the additional 25k points from Wastepac, I think the nab deal is better.

Edit: only need to spend $1500 to activate Nab bonus

For those interested, I applied for and was approved for altitude black in early January. On 22nd January i registered for the qantas lounge passes here. https://loungepass.altitudeblack.com.au/default.aspx?appAction=exit

Booked a qf flight on 24th January. Received the lounge passes in the post 3rd February.

Thanks for providing link. I didn't register before purchasing QF flight but after seeing this registered than paid a $2 carbon offset which triggered QC passes that I received today (two weeks later).
