Thanks for the heads up here. Mrs 11sjw and I will be cancelling our policies at the end of March.

No, you dont have to use the QF link:

The Qantas link takes you to a Qantas page on the OnePath website. I assume they can track how you arrived at this point? I ask this as I arrived there directly from the OnePath Home page as well.

So long as you purchase it direct it will qualify according to the terms and conditions of the offer.

Most people signed up for the Woolworths EDR CC just for the bonus points with the intention of cancelling it straight away. Is there any difference?

Some of us signed up with the intention of cancelling a different card!

1 pt per dollar is better than the 0.5 pt per dollar that most of the other cards offer!

Haha true, but I thought the issue was then what limit you could get on the EDR card, I’d read it was quite low.

Back on topic, I’ve heard that the job to choose when signing up is self-employed photographer, that’ll get you a premium of $8.24.

If you get caught lying to an insurance company your insurance will be canceled and you will probably have issues getting any insurance again for a long time at a reasonable rate. You have probably noticed the questions regarding previous refusal/cancellation of contracts in any insurance application, they are there to reinforce the provisions of the insurance contracts act in respect to duty of disclosure, tread carefully if you are after some bonus points and did not hold that job or work at least 20 hours each week in the past year.

Duly noted, though I was just passing on something I’d been told, I’m not a self-employed photographer ;)

I just did this, 100% legitimately. I reduced the monthly benefit to $1000 and my premium is sub-$8/month (with 6 month benefit period and 90 day waiting period).

That works for me. 2 x $7.47 (kinda serendipitous) for 10,023 points ;)

Out of interest, the photographer on a similar plan would be $8.54.

Apparently Network Engineers are lower risk :D

Same for me. Had Electrical Engineer as occupation and showed my full salary, just dialed down the benefits fully and also got the $7.47 premium.

I'm wondering, is 2 full months just two full payments and then cancel straight away or should I actually wait two for calender months before cancelling. The second option may end up with me making a third payment!

I note there is no limit on the number of bonus 10K policys you can take out?

I was wondering the same. It did make mention of it taking 4-8 weeks from payment for regular points to post, so I have no idea about how long the bonus will take.

Good to see that my pseudo-engineer job is as low-risk as a real one (Most "real" engineers get narky that those of us who design and deploy networking infrastructure call ourselves engineers, as it's not a real degree ;)).

Hey Markis10, are you going to spend $1494 on a million points? ;)

It will give me something to do while I wait for all the JQ35 pax to arrive in MEL for the wake tomorrow besides checkin and print out my DJ BP in the lounge, I might have plenty of time ;). In the meantime SWMBO is worried I know something she does not and thats why she now has income protection :D:D

There's no limit?

Uh oh.... Not another Amex Moment coming on is it *gets the card ready*

Of course, that'd mean 1,002,241 points if you paid on the Amex ;)

That's damn near tempting.

I'm guessing there is a limit on the amount of times you can take a policy for the same item out though. Wouldn't it be like taking out multiple health insurance policies (ie, not actually permissible)?

Time to start reading up on it, you could be the next pudding guy :p

On the face of it, it seems too good to be true already ;)

Project manager here and I was $7.83 a month. No idea why I am considered a greater risk than an engineer but there you go.

Will be watching this thread with interest. I could use an additional 200,000 for $313.
