I wouldn't try it. There can be time delays disembarking (gate not available etc, that happened on my last flight x BNE) and QF can board earlier than 20 mins. Also, it depends on which gates are used. Will you be doing carryon or booked through luggage? I'd try a trial booking x BNE...

From my very limited understanding, it appears that, if it did take the southern flight path, then it had to fly over Indonesia. Were there no radar intercepts there? Or was it like Malaysia where apparently nothing showed up on their radars as it flew over? Puzzled.
