Where's all the UA J (Polaris) TPAC availability gone?

I recall mid Aug to mid Sep is often a lighter period for outbound as the bulk of the summer traffic has departed. Back in the day we flew Virgin most years across, outbound mid August, and back early September. All outbound was never more than say 50%, one had only 100 people. Coming back all...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Hard to see where the Jetstar International profit pool lies in terms of fleet but I’d say the A321 is a big driver in he numbers. I would imagine a replacement for the 787-8 would be the -9 but perhaps in smaller numbers likely 9/10. Not sure they would exit long haul widebody just yet, who...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

I’d say those Japan to Cairns runs are all but destined for this aircraft. Not sure if the increase in premium product on the 787 is suited to a route like CNS-Japan compared to others.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

If they could add these to the normal NEO fleet that would be great. Those headrest less recaro seats are not the greatest.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Why didn’t they just opt for the 321Neo instead of the XLR if they only intend to operate a bunch on domestic? Hardly needs the extra fuel tanks on those missions.

    QantasLink Airbus A220 Discussion

National Jet Systems are essentially a fully fledged domestic operator. Not a regional link operator like they make out.

    Jetstar B787 Reliability Issues

From what I’ve been told it’s D checks and refit at the same time. The timeframe matches up. D check is essentially pulling the entire insides apart so I can see why they are doing it at the same time.

    Jetstar B787 Reliability Issues

VKG had returned from HKG. VKI seems like the next one to go to HKG, although cancelled flight yesterday. I assume they are getting last minute works done in preparation for them getting through the peak period without breakdowns, before they hit the big checks from Jan.

    VietJet to start MEL-SGN flights

Jetstar has quietly reduced SGN flights over the coming months and moving the capacity to BKK. Think capacity is a bit over done to Vietnam at the moment, can get same week fares for $250 across Jetstar and Vietjet.

    JQ 18 MEL-SYD

Unlucky. Looks like the aircraft was on a SYD-MCY-SYD shift prior and was late, certainly appears like it probably wouldn’t have made it back to Sydney tonight if it continued on its Melbourne return. Only downside of the A321 is the longer turns which is a killer if trying to beat the curfew.

Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

Only saying that as on the analyst call they said they had been all owned by QF. I think what they meant was all are owned/leased by QF and then simply leased out to a said subsidiary. The Tiger leather seats heading to Network will be the same as some of those VA hellships, I recall it was...

Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

Would these not be leased? I thought the 3K fleet was owned by QF and leased to 3K

Qantas Launching MEL - HNL from May 2025

I assume we have a charter HNL-MEL next week then?

Qantas Launching MEL - HNL from May 2025

6001 was a Brethern charter last year I recall, SYD-AKL. Considering the costs involved pulling it off a revenue service, crewing, these flights have cost a motza. Certainly must be more worthwhile for QF compared to operating a normal service otherwise why bother, so no doubt in the millions...

    “new” QF B737-800s

Keep the SQ Cabin found it quite good.

    “new” QF B737-800s

Lessor for these was Deucalion who previously leased A330s to Virgin so I can probably see why they wanted nothing to do with VA again so gone elsewhere. QF should have been more proactive with picking up 737 leases over the past decade. Rex and Virgin have picked up some good mid life aircraft...

Virgin Australia orders 8 Embraer E190-E2 jets for delivery from 2025

Looks weird without the longer wingtips. Feels incomplete without them 🤣

Virgin Australia orders 8 Embraer E190-E2 jets for delivery from 2025

Would they still have the E190 on the AOC? Last flight was 2018. I assume they still have a whole pile of manuals and other docs floating around which will no doubt assist with entry.
