Due to fly out on JQ7 to Singapore in a couple of weeks and I have been keeping an eye on this flight daily.

It seems it has either been cancelled or had significant delays on the majority of days over the last 2-3 weeks.

Is there currently issues with Jetstars B787 fleet or is this more isolated to just the Singapore service?

If it is cancelled you’ll be moved to the qantas flight, mapping across class of service. So either way, you’ll enjoy an upgraded experience :)

VKB is now back in operation after a week grounded, repositioning HKT-MEL and back in service operating MEL-BKK.

VKG might be the first getting the heavy check alongside cabin upgrade. Unless it’s unexpected urgent maintenance. They did state Jan 2026 but that might be when it returns to ops.

Still in HKG.

VKG had returned from HKG.

VKI seems like the next one to go to HKG, although cancelled flight yesterday.

I assume they are getting last minute works done in preparation for them getting through the peak period without breakdowns, before they hit the big checks from Jan.

Based on the 330 refits a few years back, id expect the 787 refurbs to be 6-8wks to replace seats tip to tail (and install the crew rests)

Which fits with the prior release of the first one in mid-Jan, and out early March

From what I’ve been told it’s D checks and refit at the same time. The timeframe matches up.

D check is essentially pulling the entire insides apart so I can see why they are doing it at the same time.
