Can't be sure what it might be due to helicopter interference. Irrespective, I'm rugging up.

    What's your golden travel rule?

For mine, I am generally covered for that sort of stuff via the credit card insurance. But as I have some pre-existing conditions* that prevent automatic medical cover I look to use annual insurance for that - hence I am able to wait. *(of the type that gets automatically covered in most paid...

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

It is really unfortunate - either Qantas have indeed given First the @rse or there was a miscommunication/miscomprehension among staff. This is what I have found may be needed as a First passenger on upon arriving into the First lounge at SYD. Head up escalator Approach reception and 'check...

Rules concerning booking flights from one of my five authorised stopovers

    1. If those are booked as a completely separate trip outside of the existing booking with no refence it there is no issue. 2. Greater than 24 hours is a stopover. Here, it is best to compartmentalize separate bookings. Any flight a single flight number on a single date between two ports is...

Rules concerning booking flights from one of my five authorised stopovers

That's the issue. If you are already in the maximum zone but still have a reasonable amount of distance remaining and not used all five stopovers, you can call to add seqments at only the cost of the change fee, surcharges, taxes and levies. Sadly it is a risk to call to do so.

Rules concerning booking flights from one of my five authorised stopovers

Ok, see the thread link posted by @DejaBrew You can have 5 stopovers in total but only one in any single port. You can also have up to two transfers at a single port. You can have a booking with a stopover and two transits at any one port. For an international bookings, a transit at a port...

    Year 2000 Qantas flights

I have no timetables going back that far. Qantas did fly that route a decade later in 1998. A timetable effective 29th March shows QF514, QF538 & QF544 were all SYD-BNE-CNS schedules.

    Qantas First Lounge in Singapore

QF81 is scheduled over 5 hours late. https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/QFA81 My experiences are that it stays open for delayed departures. However, given the notice I would not be surprised if they plan on only keeping the business lounge open.

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

I flew through SYD on a Wednesday in March and the upper lounge was open outbound ~9:30am & inbound ~4:30pm.

    Year 2000 Qantas flights

I'll check, but back then Qantas had many multi segment "direct" flight routes. Off the top of my head, QF400 was MEL-SYD-OOL with QF475 OOL-SYD-MEL the SYD/MEL segments being the first and last flight of the day between those ports respectively. QF610/QF637 were similar for MEL-BNE-CNS & vv.

    Discover Qatar Stopover offer

If you are in and out and on QR on the one booking you can get a much reduced accommodation cost for up to 96 hours (4 nights). I am booked on a DONE4 so no fare hijinks here. When booking I allowed a week to see Doha ... turns out it's during the FIFA Arabic cup and hotel prices are sky high...

Qantas' Impending Change to Tokyo Flight Schedule

No - there can be greater automatic award availability for Qantas status members, and can vary depending on status levels. This can be seen when a Bronze members logs on and sees different availability than that shown to a statused member for the same search.
