Finnair Business Class any recent experiences?

SVO is indeed one of the worst airports in the world, but they have opened a new terminal in the past few months, and with any luck Finnair will have transfered there. No doubt the "service" will remain the same...s%*thouse. As others have told you, Finnair seats are NOT flat but angled...

QF A380 Cabin - which section/seat is best?

Is there a similar list to Serfty's on J seats in the Qantas A380?

Virgin Blue To Cocos (Keeling) & Christmas Islands

Hi Guys, Lucky enough to have visited them both. Completely different. Cocos is like a pacific atoll, low lying, reefs, lagoons etc. Accomodation is very "holiday Shack" style (but not the prices). Christmas on the other hand is a mountain top rising abruptly out of a very deep ocean. No...

New 'Low Cost' Terminal for Perth

It rains every day in Perth during the winter. Ask the fly in/out guys how much they like the winter walk to their planes! Until the Airport can get the LCCs to move Qantas is stuck in their wee space.

    Westin or Sheraton in Langkawi?

I stayed this year in the Sheraton and was disappointed at how rundown it was. Good service though. :)

    Air Asia X vs KLM

May I ask where you got details of the KLM fare out of KUL please?

    Possible DYKWIA of the year

I'm another who, having looked at a few posts today, though "Moody" was a fairly apt moniker :-) lighten up pal Newton Jnr has far too many "incidents". Are they beat up for all they're worth by the media? for sure. Reminds me a little of good old Qantas actually.

    Qantas carry-on rules changed?

I fly QF a bit between Perth and HKG, or NRT. Always travel with an International size roll on (usually 8-9kgs) and a Laptop/camera backpack. Never been questioned or looked at twice.

    Could it Happen-SAS-Finnair merger.

Yeah, hopefully Scandie will come our way and increase the options. just a shame the planes and the Flighties are soooo old!

    Deplorable air asia!!!!!!!!!!!!

I realize you are a newby, but your post is no news here, and just a little over the top IMHO. You could drop about 20 of the exclamation marks for starters. Air Asia is a great LCC, not a full service carrier. Their planes are well maintained, the flight crews attentive, the fares cheap, and...

Jetstar forced Kurt Fearnley off wheelchair, says Paralympian

Airline wheel chairs are very narrow for the obvious reason, they need to fit down the isles of the planes. They also have small wheels, which means occupants can not move themselves. This is why he is throwing a hissy fit. All this nonsense about "forced to crawl" misses the point it was HIS...

50 SC by 31st JAN for my cousin.....

Look on Mondays, one of the International planes re-positions. The domestic planes don't have it.

    Qantas Holidays Cheaper?

Thanks for sharing that. I had never heard of this. In saying that, I did book a car for Germany via the QF website (it's a long story) and found it was the cheapest by far.

Repatriation - does anyone know of globalrescue

Why not try International SOS. Headquartered in Singapore, but global reach. Centres include Sydney Many of the insurance companies sub contract to them anyhow.

    Think twice...

I have a work colleague who also made the mistake of swearing at an officer in Dubai airport. He was lucky to only be "detained' for 3 hours, but missed his plane and HAD to buy a new ticket out at his own expense. Very expensive mistake! Swearing is not acceptable in the UAE, and I also...

China Eastern J or QF Y?

I worked out of Shanghai in 2005 and I had some pretty scary flights with CE around China, so don't mock other's experience unless you can directly relate your own please! I personally would still take their 3* J seat over a QF Y given the improvements I've noticed.

    PER-UK Non stop?

When the 777-200lr was announced I was one of many westcoasters who begged QF to buy some and fly PER-LHR direct. Rather than hub in PER from the east coast, they wrote they were very happy with their arrangements in Asia (read cheaper options). Different age I know. Hope Virgin does give it a...

    QF Weighing Carry On

Perth Int has a guy at the immigration entrance also, but he's pretty casual. More than once have seen the dragons at QF gate in LAX taking hand luggage off people as the circled the chairs endlessly before boarding. Was such a contrast to the VERY lax attitude to carry on with US domestic...
