What cheeses me off

Does this make sense to anyone? Why the contrast between BKK immigration and CNX immigration. This is harassment but nothing we can do. And yes I do see a totally irrelevant point that we may be kidnapping my daughter but multiple Thailand entry/exit stamps and Australian passport with identical details is a dead give-away that we are not kidnapping anyone.

For an 'abundance of caution', for which I think you should be grateful for. A bit like when they ID you for buying alcohol in the NT - EVERYONE has to produce it, even if you are, er, obviously over 80!

What if your flight was on time?
If the BKK-SIN flight was on time we would have had 2h35m transit so plenty of time to relax in lounge and make way to boarding gate at own pace.

I do not want (refuse) to book transits where I have to rush to boarding gate to be the last to board. It's too stressful.

I suspect they are checking the human trafficking angle.

It appears all that is required is BCert plus parent letter. Has your daughter ever been refused travel?.
I understand about human trafficking but daughter has Thai entry/exit stamps the same as her parents. She also has Australian passport that matches Thai passport.

The only thing I can possibly think, is they are implying that Thai/Australian passports can be forged but not Thai birth certificate. What if it was Australian birth certificate? Or Greek birth certificate? And why don't CNX immigration make same fuss?

Three birth certificates? Must have been traumatic for the mother 🤣

Do you have to show both passports and Thai ID? Presenting only the Australian passport would make asking for a Thai birth certificate somewhat presumptuous.

Getting her out 3 times wasn't so much of a problem as pushing her back in twice. ;)
No offence intended John

Interesting points.

Exiting Thailand we have to show Thai passport but they keep asking for birth certificate even though I am standing right there.

The biggest problem in their mind is that mum and daughter have different surnames.

Sitting outside, enjoying our lunch, and my first encounter in a while with a meth head. I understand addiction is a terrible thing but I don't have to endure someone's actions from it so politely, respectfully but firmly told him to leave us alone and go away.

He didn't like what I said but I couldn't understand his accent/words but did make out he called me fat 😂 then security showed up, thanks to the nearby cruise ship

I had a boring tuna sandwich, which I ordered before he called me fat, not after 😂

If she enters on the Thai passport I can understand why you'd need to show it on exit. But asking for Thai ID on the basis of appearance doesn't seem right and you're right to be cheesed off. Do others with dual passports have to show both when entering or exiting countries?

They're not even happy to see her Thai ID or Australian passport. They want birth certificate.

I've forgotten most of the details but we had very stressful time in Nov 2016 when my wife and daughter first came to live in Australia. Wife packed birth certificate in checked luggage. Immigration would not let us exit. Eventually found the hospital document of daughters birth and they finally accepted. We almost missed flight. Very stressful and we were all there behind the immigration counters in plain sight of everyone going past.

We did try a few times with daughter and I going to one immigration counter and wife in another immigration counter but they still engage my wife asking for birth certificate. They do not engage me, in fact they do a great job of ignoring me. Racist? Oh yeah.

I really hate it. I have no respect for Thai immigration. You have to be stupid (yes stupid) if they see that father is there with daughter and daughter has multiple entry/exit stamps in passport. Cannot possibly be child trafficking.

If I get another ToP text I swear I'm going to drive to the Gold Coast and punch someone. Spammed multiple times a day for last few days 🤬🤬🤬🤬
All perfectly legal (if even unethical), though how you got multiple times a day (cf. I got once per day)...

The investigation threat is empty... all parties can do this unless the law changes. Thank goodness all of them don't do this otherwise one might expect something like 5-20 texts per day! I wonder if they're permitted to do the same thing on phone, e.g. put an autoplay campaign message on an autodialer and leave it be.

AFAIAA pollies have no limits (and seems no requirement for truth) as long as they quote who authorised them.

I am getting them from two different "authorised by". The majority from Fong. Different (usually) ridiculous statement each time.
