What cheeses me off

WCMO because touring in Mexico+Cuba soon cannot get an Esta because of embargo reintroduced by Mr Maga.
Wasn’t the policy introduced by one of the Bushes and expanded by President Obama?

I too have a cruise that I can’t avoid translating the United States for. So I’m currently in the process of renewing my B1 B2 Visa which is a major major Royal PITA. ( past visit to Iran)

Showers that are 60cm-75cm square. No room to turn around let alone build up and lather.

And I understand hotels/motels need to save money but if you are going to install bottles with soap and secure the bottles so people don't walk away with them then make sure one can get soap easily. (Note the nozzle is barely past the contraption to secure the liquid soap bottles)

Appreciating the issue of single use plastics, but I loathe these pump containers. I always have a bar of soap in a plastic bag in my travel kit. Use the towels to wipe it dry each time.

As someone who has bad dermatitis and allergy to scents I always have to take my own anyway

Just stayed 4 nights at Mantra. Within 2 days half of my fingernail quicks were peeling and bleeding. When I realised it was the pump selection I switched back to real soap.

Well, speaking of - WCMO is when you open a bar of soap at the hotel, using it once and then the next morning it's gone and replaced by another new one. As it's been so long since I've actually had soap, miniature toiletries etc. I now remember I need to hide them, otherwise they go byebye!

Had this at Mantra last week. Extra annoying because the soap was not replaced with a fresh one.

Overheated hotel rooms. In Switzerland when I arrived at hotel yesterday turned off radiators and opened windows. Down to 4 last night but still 16 in my room which is good. They serviced my room and closed the windows and turned on the radiators

Yes and no.
It was introduced by someone else but relaxed by Obama (removed even), such that direct USA Cuba flights were simple and esta wasn’t a hassle.
So if you have been to Cuba before 2019 your esta is still ok to go, it after- no dice.

Grrr. Bottle of hand wash sitting next to near identical bottle of hand lotion in the bathroom. Looking at you QF!
Or in showers, identical hand/body lotion and shampoo bottles.
And labelled with small writing making it hard to discern the contents ...

I mean, who wears reading glasses in the shower?

Seems they get it at the joint AA/BA lounges at JFK:

The irony is if you are US citizen you can fly back and forth to Cuba relatively easily (and there are lots of flights from Florida etc) but if you are a foreigner you are not even allowed a transit en route through the secure area of a US airport without a heap of BS process, cost and time lag (up to 8 months to get an exemption)

WCMO: Miele twin dos washing machine - did Mrs' washing today, error fault at end of wash with "Call Servive - Waterproofiong failure". So called them. 20 minute wait. Ask for service callout under paid extended warranty - "ok, ah Queensland, we have a bit of an issue there - first apointment for service callout is May 1."

Similar with a car I just bought, 1st day of ownership a fault came up saying child lock: fault. Rang up, earliest I could get it in to be looked at was April 29. Thanks, Audi!

Drove from Hervey Bay to Brisbane yesterday. Stopped at water park in Maryborough for daughter and again in Gympie at Lake Alford Park for daughter and for me to feed the swans.

Went via Tin Can Bay Rd (back way) from Maryborough to Gympie and not a lot of traffic and I passed 1 car on the way. Moved over a few times to let cars through.

From Gympie there was heavy rain and at times very poor visibility. I set cruise control to 97kph in 110kmh zone and 92kmh in 100kmh zone. I did not pass a single car in the 2 hour trip home. Some cars were behind me for some distance while most were doing the speed limit if not more. I don't think my driving would be considered too slow but I do understand that it may irk some drivers.

Note on the way up to Hervey Bay in dry conditions many drivers were doing less than speed limit on Bruce Hwy. What is it with people when roads are wet? Was it rushing to get home? We got home 6:00pm and the traffic was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting.
