HH Status Barometer

I note the HH status barometer has been disabled whilst 2014 status is calculated.

They caught me off guard. I wanted to take a screen shot as I was up to 33 stays but was just waiting for my 34 to show........waited too long. I hope they don't stuff it up as I had a number of multinight stays which counted as 2 stays due to a promo. It'll be a PITA if I have to go back through my booking history to find them now.

Oh well, I'll have to show some faith (and patience)! :shock:

It has taken them some time to get this bar up to date ...they may have to deprecate the feature and simply stick with the TEXT like DIAMOND or GOLD like they have on the main page...it may allow them to focus more time on reducing the # of errors the site generates..

The status bar for me is generally up to date, but each year they hide it whilst they recalculate the members new year status. This year it returned on Jan 20th although there is then a period of waiting untill end of March to see the new status. I just don't want to get to the end of March and find I'm bumped to gold because not all promo stays have been counted. It'd be a pain to rework out to prove it and the barometer screen shot may have resolved that easily and quickly.........if I had it

Maybe I should just trust the system............but I don't.

Call me bored or call me paranoid, but I decided to ring HH about mine. The lady confirmed (well as much as a telephone converstaion confirms anything :? that her screen shows me diamond until Mar 2015. I did ask where we could see that and she said we couldn't but she could on hers. Hopefully that indicates that due to me already having reached diamond renewal, it's already been processed! New card in the mail????

Ugghhh ..I just wish they would all have a status label saying 'Projected or Set to Expire in Mar 2015' ...it is always such a mystery?? Can all the fancy graphics and simply display the exact Day, Month, Year that the central system shows the expiry ..we always have these threads guessing 1st of month or last of month? 2015 or 2016 and on and on ...i guess the alternative is for us to continously stay and by default be Diamond, Platinum, Zirconium or whatever the top tier is ;-) congrats on Diamond ...I personally will recognize it haha

I too like the barometer. It's a handy reference to gauge how I'm going with my status renewal and like the fact it automatically displays the highest level reached whether that be via stays, nights or base points (mine swaps between stays and base points). FWIW, I definitely retained diamond this year via stays, but I was close to the old base point requal, but still well short of the new requirement of 120 000.

Yes, but it doesn't show which stays were subject to the 2 night stay = 2 stay promo. I'd have to go back and check the promos to see which ones qualified (which I honestly wasn't looking forward to).

This happens every year. You don't need to worry about anything - if you want to email or call them they can tell you what your points/stays/nights total is instantly.

The barometer is back for 2014. As my 30th stay for the 2013 year was on 30 December 2013, how do I tell that my diamond status has been extended to 31 March 2015...

As an aside, it really looks like a thermometer.....

I have neither barometer nor thermometer! Must be a staged return!

As for how you know......I think all you can do is phone them if you're concerned. Hopefully your account still shows diamond, but I guess that's to be expected anyway until Mar 31.

Interesting data point. Theory and logic would suggest that's a 2013 stay, but as check-out was 2014??????

I'd like to know the outcome after the full course of events (maybe they'll credit it as both 2013 and 2014).

The check-out day is the one that counts - even if a 20 days stay over December with the check out being 1 Jan . Have done this over the last 3 years

This works against you in promos, but has it's benefits at times. If you have a stay during a promo, make sure you are wholly within the promo dates.
