We recently lost 106730 frequent points .The lack of customer care from Qantas was amazing.I would like to hear from anyone else who has lost points and there experience with Qantas.I suspect there are 100's maybe 1000's like us out there .I would like to take the lack of customer loyalty by Qantas furthur

Some of our friends have lost points through account inactivity with Qantas which of course means that they did not respond to any of the emails and letters they received for 18 months.
i suggest everyone has a Woolworths Everyday Rewards card as Qantas points earned will keep the account active.
There will be hundreds/thousands who will forfeit their points this next 12 months.

Yes there will be thousands who ignore all of the communications from Qantas so sticky is needed.

Rodblech, welcome to AFF. It's a shame you lost your points. If you stick around you will find quite a few threads similar to yours where people have lost hundreds of thousands of points. The best thing to do is read up on the forums here about the many ways to earn points, then before you know it you will have your points balance back to where it was.

Oh, and perhaps make sure your Qantas contact details are up to date on your Qantas profile so you're not missing emails from them.

Good luck.

There is a rush of people posting about lost points just after the first of each month. Usually upto half a dozen on the Qantas Facebook page.

It is a tough lesson as some members think of Qantas points as if they are a Big4 savings account.

Lack of customer loyalty? Bit hard to claim that when you haven't earned any QFF points over an 18 month period. It's not like it's the hardest thing in the world to do is it?

It may be blunt be you aren't going to see those points again no matter how much you threaten legal action...

I'm not sure how Qantas handles notifying members of impending expiry, but I recently received an email from AA about points due to expire in 6 months time! So if it's anything like that, there's plenty of time to do something about it.

Sorry to hear they're gone, more so from someone who knows how to use them than any other reason, I feel for the poor points, but if your account hadn't had activity for 18 months that's hardly loyalty.

Let me sing you the song of my people...

*breaks out worlds smallest violin, with a Rolls Royce Trent 900 backing symphony*

Having an Everyday Rewards membership and spending $31 in an 18 month would have saved you from losing this amount.

As oft uttered around here, a loyalty program is not about the customer - they are run by businesses with profit motivations, and not charitable or benevolent enterprises. Your points expire because they are a financial liability to that business, as they want and need you to use them.

You've lost 100k in points for the want of a $31 transaction.

Sympathy: Zero.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Irrespective all that was needed was one point in or out of the account (excluding family transfers) in that eighteen month window and this would all be a non event.

<redacted> you've lost 100k in points for the want of a $31 transaction.

...

If they really wanted $31, 31 of us could have pitched in $1 each and walked away with 3225.8 points each! Oh wait.. that kind of thing is in the T&Cs as well.

Of course a cheaper alternative was to download the Qantas toolbar and do a couple of searches.

Could have easily installed the Qantas search toolbar and performed one search a year for a single point..

People need to man up and take responsibility for their own inaction. I have no sympathy here...
