Vinomofo has a new salvation case offer up (version VII):

This just means you get a mix pack of a bunch of their recent wines, this one only has reds. The 96pt $90 bottle they mention is the MollyDooker Carnival of Love 2010.

Got my salvation case delivered today. The 96pt $90 bottle was the Yering Station Reserve Shiraz Viognier 2010. Happy Days. But of course YMMV.

Not sure what to make of this wine though. Interesting that the closure is still cork which is a shame. Reading the tasting notes on cellartracker, it seems like this is a bit of a clumsy wine. I wonder if it will come together with a bit more time or not. Not sure I really want six to find out though, but would love to know anyone else's thoughts who have tried this wine recently?

Had a bottle at the weekend and afraid I have to agree. I'm not a big Cab Sav fan in general but I think this needs a little longer in the cellar.

Very close, although vinomofo say the price at the winery is $45 and current pricing at Sandalford estate is "Today's exclusive offer is $150 per case (saving you $60)! Normally $35 per bottle, grab a six pack today for only $25 per bottle, delivered!"

Hmmm. Still a bargain for $13.50 pb at face value, but the Mt Langi Cliff Edge 2008 is back on epiQure and TBH I think I'd rather go for a known quantity

I'm pretty sure it's Wills Domain Reserve Shiraz:

The 2009 vintage was not rated by James Halliday while 2008 and 2010 were (matches the description). Alcohol % and price matches, plus vinomofo has a history of selling Wills Domain wines.

I'm suspecting today's deal (https://vinomofo.com/deals/mof_-secret-deal-96pt-iconic-bendigo-shiraz-2008-4278abe0) is the 2008 Seppelt Benno Shiraz. That seems to be the only '08 Bendigo Shiraz rated 96 points by JO. Anyone tried this before?

The marketing plan might make interesting reading.
Stuff is presented on a mostly one day deal, and then evaporates.
One might assume available until sold out, but it seems not so......strange ....

My guess is that some labels have unsold stock (might be unsold exports or older vintages that need to be cleared to make way for newer vintages).

Vinomofo (and other auction sites, brokers etc.) would be a way to clear some/all of that stock quickly. If Vinomofo made it available "until sold old" there'd be a lot less pressure for people to "buy right now"

Behind the scenes they do continue to offer most of the wines until sold, they are just not promoted that way. There have been a number I thought I had missed out on but in fact hadn't.
