Hi all, just wanted to share I am about to take my first ever QF business flight. From Perth to Melbourne. I got a points upgrade thanks to help and advice on here. Yay....off I go :o)

Won't be getting much sleep. Flatbed or not, it only takes 3 hours and 15 minutes to get to MEL. Flat bed very hit and miss but more chance with PER - MEL. By the time they serve supper your almost commencing descent. Service is usually ok, but after lights out, crew disappear. I do his flight once a month. I hate it....!!!!! However, enjoy QF Business.

That bloody angled flat bed. I reckon I have slept better in Y on the A330.

From my experience, a J red eye is a waste of the experience. Any flight after lunch or early evenings are the best to enjoy the fruits of the pointy end.

Try not to ruin it for me everybody please!

It'll be great. Many ( like me) are spoiled in their flying ... I have many gripes with QF at the moment, but Dom J isn't one of them. Angled flat bed or not, it's a whole heap better than Y!!

Ok, so, first QF business flight completed. It was alright, and worth the points to upgrade, but I'm glad I didn't pay the $ for it. Managed to sleep, it was the lay-almost-flat bed, and I'm only 5ft tall, so it was quite comfy, not sure how normal people would manage though? The breakfast wasn't as advertised, and the service wasn't much different to that I've experienced in Y. Maybe I'll try a non red-eye next and see if its better?

Everyone complaining about the J experience (you will have) should be forced to do the return trip in Y on VA 737! Enjoy your trip (I am sure you will)!

Glad to hear you got some sleep. That's the most important thing for me on any night J flight.

Any upgrade is a good upgrade. Hope your next one comes soon. I've done a few status maintaining J (dont take away my ASA) legs this year (BNE-MEL) and have thoroughly enjoyed them all even though they were only on B738, nothing as fancy as an A330.

sorry if you feel I am hijacking this thread by I also have my first QF J flight coming up next month on the same route, MEL-PER-MEL. Does anybody know if QF offers Halal meals on domestic routes?

Am going to try for an ASA, although all the comments on here about how hard it is have discouraged me somewhat. I'm based Mel and only need 80 SCs to remain gold. Does anyone have any good ideas about what would be a good trip to enjoy J?

Sorry, should have said, out of Mel.

Not hijacking at all! Sorry I don't know the answer. Hope you enjoy your flight :o)

Under "Special Requests" under "Manage Your Booking" there is a Halal meal option.
