Just to revive a dead thread - it seems there is another current promotion to join QFF for free. The link that came in the email today is:

https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/do/dyns/joinffp?code=REDEMAIL&rmid=18JUN13_FF_FOC_Join

I wonder if the IT team that sends out these 'targeted' emails might be able to update their scripts so that the 'Join Qantas Frequent Flyer for Free' emails aren't sent out to existing members.... "Here at Qantas we appreciate your loyalty as a WP but every now and then we completely forget that you've even got a membership and invite you to join up again...".

What they are meant to put in to the message is to remind you to pass the invite on to a friend, partner, significant other...

Clearly loyalty are trying to grow the numbers before EOFY make those numbers look good.

Handy if you want to sign up the family pets

Interesting bit in the T&Cs

+ Points and Status credits are earned on eligible flights and fares operated by Jetstar Airways, Jetstar Asia and Valuair with a JQ, 3K or VF flight number on your ticket. Points and Status credits are not earned on Award bookings or Starter fares without a Plus or Max bundle, or Business fares without a Max bundle. Points and Status credits cannot be earned on Jetstar Pacific (BL) flights or Jetstar Japan (GK) flights.

My reading of the Earning table on Qantas, suggests to me that points are earned (now) on Jetstar Japan.....

I received the offer to my old email address that I haven't promoted in the years.

Nothing to my registered QFF email.
