When can a platinum ff use the first lounge ?

Ah then. I better be careful trying to do flounge runs on JQ. Thanks for pointing that out. I seem to have managed on the weekend. Sorry if I've misled anyone for the future. The demise of QF81/82 may have put paid to some flounging

edit to add: lounge access is one of the more difficult and arcane parts of this game. So thanks for this thread and the contributions to it. I continue to learn

I think the only Qantas group flights ex-SYD Int'l are JQ flights.

I think the only Qantas group domestic flights ex-SYD Int'l are JQ flights except the SYD - BNE leg of the QF flight to Manila on a Thursday (if that is still flying).

This thread is making my head spin with all the permutations :)

Good point Anna - wouldn't want to start the scaremongers off again with the "no QF flights int'l ex-SYD" comment ;) That is only true for PER and ADL ;)

Newk,
Qantas WP (Plats) have no issue on JQ, it is just other oneworld emeralds (ie AA Exec Plat, BA Gold, CX Diamond) that have an issue on JQ.

Thanks :). Head also spinning. No wonder people have trouble working all this out.

And if QF can fly SYD - BNE - MNL once a week, why can't it fly SYD - ADL - SIN once a week? (But I'm OT.)

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

So I guess this option is out of the window for me as there are none for SYD-MEL.

Will have to put up with QC at Dom T3. :)

Because those in SYD (which includes QF route planners!) want to fly direct..

I still think a DRW hub would work for QF, aggregating traffic from ADL, BNE and CBR in particular

Has not worked in the past, that is in fact what QF81 used to do, along with the QF flight from Cairns.

Thanks for that.

I was mildly confused for a while thinking that my knowledge bank needs an update.

This is from QF rule for SYD F Lounge access.

".....

[TH]Platinum Frequent Flyer[/TH]
Next onward flight must be on a Qantas, Emirates, Jetstar Airlines+ or oneworld flight number.#
One guest allowed and must be travelling with the member on the same flight.
......"

NEWK, you remain in the right !

We came up with what I felt was a good solution for PER and ADL the other night.

Would an ADL-PER-SIN flight work? It would depart ADL morning and PER around noon and arrive into PER around 2:00am and
ADL around 6:00am. I think loads would be good combining both cities.

I'm all for it. Anything that might help us get a J lounge built ;)

Not trying to hi-jack a thread at all, but semi-related to the question for Plat FF's. If flying domestic, say from SYD, and flying from the International Terminal and is a JQ flight, can you still check in at the Qantas First desk as a Plat? Or does one have to queue up with the general unwashed (just kidding!) at the JQ desks?

There are a number of threads on AFF discussing this topic including one thread started earlier today.

The short answer is you cannot use the Qantas First check-in for a Jetstar flight.

In general one must check at the counters of the operating carrier.

Basically it is no different in this case.

JQ check-in rules (sadly) - see this thread: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....rogram/strategy-get-early-jq-check-32055.html

Hi

There are the occasional SYD (int) - MEL JQ flights.

Is there any occasional MEL (int) - SYD JQ flight at all ?

Or to another capital say BNE, DRW instead ?

Or I should not be bothered searching for them.

Thank you
