Just found out that my upgrade to First was just confirmed! And at T-40 as well. :D Any tips for making the most of my upcoming experience would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats!!! Where are you going to?
My best tip is to not over indulge in the F Lounge beforehand - sheer torture but totally worth it :D

Congratulations ... T-40 huh?

Ok, so that makes for what 1PM Sunday?

That would suggest you are of to LAX on 11 ... enjoy - watch out for the degustation ...

On QF11 to LAX and then connecting through to SFO. I will do my best not to over-indulge in the F lounge, Princess Fiona. ;)

What does the First Host do? I've seen this mentioned previously. Is this for my arrival and transfer in LAX?

Bad advice;) Get in there, go hard & enjoy the whole trip!

Happy days:cool:

You are correct! :D I am so looking forward to the degustation.

Happy days, indeed! :D I can't go too hard in the F lounge. I really don't want to be denied boarding on my first ever F experience on QF, especially when it's on the A380!!

Congrats - and what Princess Fiona said.

Remember it's an afternoon departure and service starts about an hour after takeoff, so you'll be having a massive meal way before your body clock is ready for dinner.

Go light in the F lounge :)

Thanks for the advice about the F lounge. It shouldn't be too hard to take it easy in there. My visits to the F lounge will become a very regular occurrence soon. It's being in F on the QF A380 that won't be so regular...

2 things:

(1) I know of someone that was refused further alcohol in the Sydney F lounge but was not denied boarding.

(2) Does anyone know whether a special meal request in First on degustation routes (eg vegan, halal, kosher etc) cancels the degustation and it just becomes the standard 3 course meal?

Congrats MH_fan! Am similarly having my first A380 F experience this week, and taking heed of all the advice (not overindulging in the lounge being the hardest!).

Have you booked your Chauffeur Drive transfer? And I'm guessing they'll contact you today about locking in an appointment at the spa?

I've never used the F host for arrival.... They will phone you today to book your spa treatment and ask if you need any other assistance. You can ask them then.

They will call you the day before the flight to talk about any needs, wishes and wants. Probably also to give you your assigned seat & discuss other options, if available (see other threads for pros and cons of which column and Rows 1 or 5 vs 2-3-4 etc). Myself I like the 'A' column (fewer other pax using the aisle) and rows 2, 3 or 4 to get away from galley or toilets, but there is no bad seat, really.

If you are arriving SYD check-in by car, First Host should advise a mobile number you call on approach, so they can be kerbside to assist with luggage.

Not aware of any particular arrival services, but I'm pretty sure they are about to assist, if you request same.

Only been in F on A380 once... but hoping that the upgrade gods will smile on me in 2 weeks time.

Enjoy! If anything A380 F is better than QF SYD FLounge
