Best seats economy A380?

Tough call! 32A/K with the side storage being differentiators - I'd go for 80J/K (with seat alerts for 32A/K).

32K with a WP shadow is very nice, not sure I like the refurb, cabin baggage stowage space is at a premium given the number of exit and bulkhead seats. The service is also interesting with Y being served before Y+, had a light Y load so toilets were not busy and it was an easy trip down the stairs to the refreshment bar.

Hi Markis I have been allocated row 32 D and J seats for an upcoming flight and wondered if you found that one could fully stretch out or are you better off in a non bulk head seat? I am only 175cm.

32D has the video in the arm rest so not as good a seat, 32 J is great if you have a shadow. The real benefit is with the window seats that have the side storage that makes a great foot rest. Either way the cabin upstairs is great as it feels like a club, and the service from the crew seems better, I am on a 744 to Sin Thursday and it won't feel the same. Missing the A380 to SIN, but keen to get back to DXB ASAP!

Can anyone comment on row 34 in the upper deck? Seat guru says it is close to the toilet so I'm hesitant to pick this row.

Also on the topic, can anyone comment on the Emirates 777-300 three class? I've picked row 23 F&G but not sure if it's the best way to go.

Thanks.

Well finally managed to find the right person on the Plat line and successfully had 66D allocated to Dubai then London then all the way back to Melbourne so upper deck Y will have to wait till I can get the exit row seat. Found some pictures of row 32 and there didnt seem to be any real space to stretch where as row 66 seats DEFG have a heap of room cant touch the Bulkhead when stretched out.

I don't perceive the leg room difference bring that great.

Unless you are well over 6' (or have a big butt), 32A/K would be a Better bet.

Thanks Markis

Can I ask how you got 66D allocated?

I have tried several times and never been able to get it allocated......

I think the operator took pity on me as only arrive in UK on the 24th then fly back on the 26th :D But have never normally had an issue getting this seat if my other favourites in Y are not available or if I am not in J or F.

It is supposed to be reserved for passengers that they have peed off and should normally be able to request at the airport.

I think there is a lot of confusion over these seats as another operator advised that I would have to pay for the seats. So guess it depends who you got and as the saying goes if you dont get what you want first time then call and call again till you get what you want :D

Hi guys, decided the .br offer was too good to refuse, so have booked MEL-LHR return. Outbound is QF9 both legs, return is QF2 then QF10. Will be travelling with my wife.

Main question relates to the way over.. have access to 80A/B, 71D/E for free (PS benefit saving me some $) or can pay the surcharge ($360 or 45k points) for upper deck 35 J/K. Thoughts? We're both tall (6'5 and 5'11).. I'm thinking the cash may be worth it for the "exclusivity" of the upstairs plus the fact that the tickets were so cheap. And I'm guessing I'd be chased off the forum if I redeemed points instead of cash, given the exchange rate? If you don't think it's worth the cash, what's better for a couple, 80A/B or 71D/E?

Way back I'm assuming I'm going to have to fork out extra if I want exit rows since it's on 2 different flight numbers, so 71D/E will probably suffice (have had these on MEL-LAX so know what to expect.. far better than standard seats).

Feedback appreciated, thanks in advance.

Dr FM has a trip coming up in July - it has been booked on price and has mainly Emirates legs and one QF from Dubai. She is only silver and I don't appear to be able to select/pay for any exit rows or upstairs economy for her (either genuinely gone, or more likely a function of the ticket she is on). I suspect the choices are between bad and bad, but I would be grateful for any feedback. All the known good seats like 70d are gone/unable to be selected. So i can choose 55j and k, or 62j and k or 61 f and g. Row 61 appears to be a bulkhead in seat selection, but having a look at seat guru it appears the split is more at row. 66. So if that is true row 55 is probably as good as it gets. Thanks for any ideas....

Row 34 didn't look too bad as queueing pax would wait behind the curtain (ie in the galley) or over towards the left door.

I'm facing the same dilemma as Ari Gold - 80A/K vs 32B for Sunday night QF10 LHR-MEL. As an aside, is there any difference between 80A and 80K?

Nice to have a choice. :D

In such circumstance I look to the sun and avoid the side of the aircraft where it would be shining on the window - even the shades can radiate significant heat when the sun shines on them.

So for, say, QF128 it's 80K with the sunrise on the "A" side.

Does anyone know if 36K has the window storage? I saw a picture that had 35K with the window storage but I can't see if the row behind definently has it.

Thank you!

Wondering if anyone can help with my question, above? Best seats for a tall couple?

80AB / 80JK (have heard the B/J seats may have a comms box in front of them, limiting legroom?)
71DE
35JK (+$360 / 45k points)

How tall are both of you?
The 80A/K or 71D seats are good for one tall person only, 80B/J and 71E are normal seats so it would negate the benefit if both of you are tall.
I think you are right about the legroom limitation in 80B/J. I've been in 80A/K a few times with a shadow every time but haven't consciously had a look at the legroom in the middle seat.
35JK on the new config would probably be the best if both of you need the legroom and are prepared to pay..

Thanks Kangol.

I think I'll pay. I'm 6'5, my wife is close to 6'. I'm assuming most would recommend cash instead of points? 0.8 cents of value per point seems a pretty inefficient use of points.

Whoops, I overlooked your earlier post with the details.

I'd agree with you on the points vs cash issue. Unless you have a bunch of points to burn.

Another option is to sit separately if more than one of the 71D, 80A, 80K seats are available. Don't know how that would go down with the wife! :D

How did you go in your previous 71DE trip? I'm guessing you took 71D because you're taller?

48B exit seat Syd to LAX on QF A380

Hi guys,

this is the first time I post anything here . I just have few questions in regards to seat 48B on an A380. There are a lot of reviews for row 80 and other exit seats but not much for 48. I am currently booked on 48B if you guys had any experience with this seat pros and cons. I would be very thankful. I'm a big guy and I need my leg space.

Thanks
