They're the worst offenders. Jetstar's $8.50 fee for paying with a credit card

doing your own bank transfer is also supported by JQ if you don't trust POLI

Happy with that. Banks don't like POLI, plus none of my banking providers are supported. POLI sans BPAY or EFT alternative with Virgin is like saying you can only use Apple Safari on a Mac to pay. Limiting the market, and quite discriminatory.

I will never use poli.

Bpay is also out of the question. Direct transfer... never.

Given the recent reserve bank changes, I thing there will be a change and it will go down!
It's not a credit card charge, it's a "booking and service fee". The RBA is powerless (hence they charge it per segment per person).

But it can be avoided by not paying with a CC, so the definition gets blurry.

It's a semantic game being played by Jetstar. A fee that is only charged on credit card transactions is a credit card surcharge whatever they decide to call it.

Perhaps it should be re-named to

"An arbitrary fee that will result in lawyers making a lot of cash regardless of the outcome"? ;)
