I am sorry I made a mistake, which just goes to show that when posting information, that one should not rely on a fading memory.
At the time I made the flight booking Qantas had not got their site in order for Dubai and the telephone help was less than optimal.
So I dropped it into the hands of a travel agent to see what they could do about the flight and accommodation.
I have found quite often that Travel Agents can often come up with accommodation deals that are not that readily available to the general public.
The price per night for a Gulf View double room including breakfast (for two) at the Hyatt Regency was $AU 145.
To me this seems good value.
Here is the room description and I did mean to mention that the proof of marriage requirements in Dubai may be of interest.
