Hi all,

I will be travelling on one of the new QF services via Dubai later this year, and have arranged a 2 night layover on the way back from LHR.

Can anyone suggest a good quality, reasonable priced (<$200 per night) hotel in Dubai. I don't feel comfortable hiring a car while I am there, so location location location is also important.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Subscribed. I also have a 2 day layover in Dubai (never been before) in a few months and haven't yet booked the accommodation.

I was looking at Dubai hotels today for a one night layover on the way to LHR. So I'd be interested to see what other people recommend as well!

A month ago I booked a double Gulf View for 3 nights, Mid June, at the Hyatt Regency Dubai for around $A 210 a night including breakfast.

I have just checked their site and this rate does not seem to be showing, however you might like to see what a travel agent can do for you.

Hyatt Regency Dubai Hotel

I have chosen the Hyatt because of its location and it has the facilities that suit me.

It is very close to the airport.

I am sorry I made a mistake, which just goes to show that when posting information, that one should not rely on a fading memory.

At the time I made the flight booking Qantas had not got their site in order for Dubai and the telephone help was less than optimal.

So I dropped it into the hands of a travel agent to see what they could do about the flight and accommodation.

I have found quite often that Travel Agents can often come up with accommodation deals that are not that readily available to the general public.

The price per night for a Gulf View double room including breakfast (for two) at the Hyatt Regency was $AU 145.

To me this seems good value.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have booked a B&B in Dubai which is not what you are looking for. Something nice next to a metro station would be good. Also, In their summer when it is incredibly hot, the hotels are half price.

I think the one right on top/next to the Mall of the Emirates by aircon walkway would be worth looking at. Sorry, I can't think of the name of it, but you may be able to search for it.

We are having a 2 night stopover at DBX in September on way to LHR. Have booked Pullman Deira Hotel because it was not OTT price wise and Trip Advisor reviews were good. Not exactly in the centre of DBX but has a large Mall attached and a Metro Station so you can go anywhere you like.

We're booked in to the Grosvenor House Dubai in September - $225/night booked directly with the hotel was cheaper than expedia, booking.com etc. Good value for a 55 m2 suite with a butler thrown in! Haven't stayed there ourselves yet but it was highly recommended by our extensively travelled son. Rates v. highly on TA too so worth a look.

I scored a room at the Al Manzil Hotel for a few nights @ a touch under $200 / night in June. Also rates quite well on TA.

Mr R and I stayed at the Al Manzil last year for three nights. Good proximity to Mall of the Emirates, Burnley Khalifa and the metro is within reach. Ask for a room facing the pool as the Burj/city side is very bright. Good breakfast and friendly staff.
