EK just said it isn't picking up any extra slots at LHR. It was a simple "nope" to the journo's question.

Joyce also confirmed QF DXB-LHR.

20. As an Emirates Skyward member travelling on the Qantas domestic network, will I have access to Qantas domestic lounges?
Only Skyward Gold members will be eligible to use the Domestic Qantas Club lounges in Australia.

6. Will Qantas still fly to London?
Yes. Qantas will fly daily from both Sydney and Melbourne to London via the global gateway of Dubai. The new partnership will also allow us to codeshare flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth directly to Dubai.

Joyce has just confirmed "absolutely not" when questioned on changes to QF's relationship with the oneworld alliance. Questioned now on CX and AF codeshares to Europe. Joyce said they will end; DXB will be their only gateway to Europe. So no more CX HKG-FCO, AF SIN-CDG (as codeshares). The Finnair codeshare to Helsinki remains.

The feed from ABC just cut out. Anywhere else I can view questions?

Sky News, Foxtel 601.

Re: QF / EK Live Announcement

ABC News24 just switched over to defense spending announcement after one question from the audience. Has anyone else got the feed??

I suspect news on PER and ADL to Asia services will be down the track, as will any possible fleet reconfig, there is a definite push to bring the A330s back to Domestic ops, while the refurbished 747s wont last for ever.

Where is this FAQ?

It seems like Perth will maintain QF international services, though, particularly to Singapore.

Journo question about how QF stops passengers liking EK more. Joyce reckons the questions misses the point with the deal, which is about treating both sets of customers as our own. If he's serious, I think that's shortsighted.

They alluded to AF re-entering other European cities down the track.

Interesting to the DXB will reduce the APD from the UK too.
