I would imagine it would be posting date. They might actually post early, though, but I wouldn't risk it if there is a large amount in your kids' accounts.

Even donating 250 miles is activity, I believe. Might be worth donating miles to save the others - I haven't done it myself!

I would just donate a few miles as suggested, problem solved, as others mentioned, what happens if it takes ages for the facebook miles to post

No. I used the link above. My FB is non timeline and was/is unchanged

There are other things you could do next time.. Buy extra miles, give miles, buy flowers, post miles, .. I think the promotion that seems to come up every year for % extra miles when you buy is a good deal.

Only trouble is that they don't have much money to purchase miles atm - doing too much travelling (and partying)!
Another option was to redeem miles for a magazine subscription for friends in the US but donating was the cheapest alternative.
