Qantas CL approached by VA

The first rule about Chairman's Lounge is.... Never talk about Chairmans Lounge.;)

Well when your in my position and as valuable to QF as I am then I don't think the rules apply to you ;) I know that sounds horrible but most CL's say that for two reasons. One if someone asks them about it they can just parrot that line. Two it makes it much more exclusive for them. Funny note in the CL box it has a "Policy" list and the first rule is that its non transferable :D Also in the CL box you get a little map with the locations of all the Chairmans Lounges. I felt like a pirate looking for treasure :D

Key question, what is the maximum number of people you can guest in :D

Appreciate the insights, but this is a public forum and airline reps (both QF and DJ) lurk. Aren't you concerned about disclosing too much info which they may not appreciate? Is there a risk of you being dis-owned by current 'life partner' and dropped by potential courter?

Thanks zachary.august for the insight & information you (+ BossReggie) have provided to the AFF community on the CL side of life that l'm sure many of us AFF members won't ever get to sample, but would love tooooooooooo :)

So here is my lounge access: 1 guest (must be traveling on same booking they check) into CL
4 guest J lounges + any children
3 guest F lounge + any children

When flying internationally a F host calls and arranges everything. When entering CL your guest gets a little black square with a barcode on it which is used as ID in the CL lounge. If travelling with carry on only (domestic) you can go straight to CL lounge and they have you pre checked (if you have arranged).

Thanks ZA. I don't want to have to start picking up private numbers!

Ha! I thought I was the only one :)

If you know my number but don't want me to know yours ... well ... doesn't sound like the start of a loving relationship does it?

Heh, I _never_ pick up private numbers.

This should answer your questions ;)

Thanks, did SG ever have access to the premium service desk (that was subsequently "enhanced" out)?

No they didn't - it was always a WP perk. Damn I loved it and meeting some of them across the road from their Camberwell office (at the Palace Hotel IIRC) was great to put faces to names.

Before WP came in and SG was top tier did they not have access to a premium service line, circa 97?

You're asking me to recall that far back? My recollection was that we all had one phone number (131131) and put in our FF number and we were directed to (in order):

1. Home State Res Team, unless queued or off-line
2. Any State Res Team open and then queued (we went to front of queue, behind any Gold already in queue)

I did this without the aid of caffeine (tea) or breakfast. Give me time to make sure of my recollection.

It may be a premium area for Gold, but it ain't Plat Premium Desk :( [speaking from experience of both ]

In the 90's it used to be special 'phone numbers for OG (13 10 62), no entry of QFF number but you needed to advise the agent who answered of it.

There was a special section of 'phone CSA's who would look after premium PAX who would respond to this number.

I don't think either WP or SG these days have a special section, just a pool of designated agents who are automatically prioitised for elite QFF numbers, but look after general members otherwise. All operators I believe are supposed to check their indicators as they respond to a call and answer "Qantas Premium" whenever a SG or better is calling

There's one operator who I have dealt with several times over the last few years who is a competent and professional as they come and often works weekends. I am always pleased when the 'phone is answered "Qantas Premium - W**** speaking". :D

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Soooooo.......... is CL better than the F lounges? What makes it so special?

Actually access to premium line is a published benefit of gold.

All I can see is "priority telephone service":
Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Gold Benefits

The number on the back of the SG card is the same as the standard QFF one available to the public (131 131)

Funnily enough the wording of the "priority telephone service" is the same as that of silver, with the same number on the back:
Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Silver Benefits

Does that mean as a SG you will be put to the front of the line - compared to PS, NB - when you call up?

FWIW it also says "priority telephone service", not premium desk, for WP:
Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Platinum Benefits - Platinum
