But that is the same as paying cash for a flight and not being able to change it due to availability.
And that thread is out of context, he is wanting to change flights around Xmas which is always hard to impossible at the best of times!
Qantas can point to plenty I ways to burn points so I doubt it would end up in court
Im aware of that, and agree that he has unreasonable expectations. But it doesn't deny that people are developing a certain level of entitlement when it comes to their points and how they want to use them.
Qantas can point all they like. They cannot, and will not (with me at least) dictate how/when I use my hard earned points and the point im trying to make is that there will come a time when people who have tried to use their points on several occasions and haven't been able to will get fed up.
Itd be interesting to see Qantas forced to disclose how many seats they actually release, as im not convinced that availability is consistent with the fair trading act, which requires you to provide reasonable quantities, and not the 1 or 2 that seem to be made available.
To be honest, the whole FF scheme is exactly that. a SCHEME. It is not designed to benefit the end user, but rather the company that operates it.
